In Genshin Impact, Natlan is a little different from the other five regions. The people are divided by tribes and each tribe has a Saurian companion they work with. Saurians are basically the ‘dragons’ of Natlan and although they don’t look like the usual Genshin Impact dragons, they do leave a lasting impression on all players.
Within the tribes, they are friendly companions, and outside, in the overworld, they can be used by players to traverse Natlan. In the Footsteps of the Chosen Dragons, is a certain World Quest Chain that introduces players to various Saurians. The Tepetlisaurus Hide-and-Seek Quest is one of them and requires players to find their own personal Saurian through a small game.

Tepetlisaurus Hide-and-Seek Quest Location in Genshin Impact
Once players have unlocked the whole map, they’ll need to head to the teleport waypoint at the far north of the Sulfurous Veins. From there, head east on the map until you come to a clearing with some baby Tepetlisaurus running around. The quest will automatically start once you enter the clearing and it’s pretty easy to complete.
Tepetlisaurus Hide-and-Seek Quest Walkthrough - Genshin Impact
This quest involves your personal Saurian, who wants to go and play with the other baby Tepetlisaurus around. Some time will pass and only then will the Traveler realize that their Saurian has not returned.
You will need to speak to the other baby Tepetlisaurus in the area before the marker moves to the direction in which your Saurian should be hiding. Players should note that your Saurian won’t be seen until you speak to the Tepetlisaurus burrowing under the ground towards the end. You need to catch it first to question it, and only then will the navigation shift to an area where your Saurian will be sleeping in the shade.
Once you are done talking to your Saurian, go talk to the big Tepetlisaurus and exchange a few words of thanks. The quest will now be completed! Unfortunately, this quest doesn’t give any achievements or chests, but players do still earn 20 Primogems upon completion. In addition to that, since the location is quite a ways off the map, players can also grab the stray Pyroculus that will be inside the tree trunk beside the bigger Tepetlisaurus.
The Tepetlisaurus Hide-and-Seek quest is actually part of a longer quest chain series called In The Footsteps of the Chosen Dragons. There are no prerequisites and there are a total of 10 sub-quests for players to find.
