Although Sumeru is the biggest Region to exist in Genshin Impact, it doesn’t contain as many local specialties as the other Regions. These items are special resources scattered around certain areas and players must collect them if they wish to level up their characters. Luckily for Travelers, some of these resources can be purchased from vendors if necessary.

Some characters in Genshin Impact will facilitate the journey since it’s possible for Tighnari to spot local specialties and mark them on the map as a hand icon. Additionally, Nahida’s Elemental Skill does have other uses than applying Dendro, which is collecting multiple harvestable items at the same time.

Unlike Inazuma which possesses nine local specialties, as of Genshin Impact 3.5, Sumeru currently has seven resources that players can gather from all over the forest and the Sumeru Desert.

Scarab	This material is found in the Sumeru Desert while exploring the Hypostyle Desert and the Land of Upper Setekh areas.

Leveling up characters in Genshin Impact is as vital as upgrading a weapon or a Talent. Any character must have 168 of their requested local specialties as one of their many Ascension materials to be maxed out. Sadly, it’s impossible to collect them in a single farming run unless players visit a friend’s world. An alternative method would be to wait 48 hours until the items respawn and the merchants refresh their shops.
