Genshin Impact has officially revealed the exact time and date for the upcoming 5.1 Special Program event. Before each version of the game arrives, Genshin Impact hosts a livestream event that introduces Travelers to most of the upcoming content, such as new regions, characters, weapons, storylines, and more.
HoYoverse's previous announcements confirmed that update 5.1 will introduce a five-star character, the Geo user Xilonen. Since she will be the only new five-star unit, the next update will feature reruns for three limited characters.

Genshin Impact's official Twitter account has confirmed more information about the upcoming livestream event for update 5.1. According to the most recent announcement, the Special Program for Genshin Impact Version 5.1 will be held on September 27 at 08:00 AM (UTC-4). The official artwork also revealed that the new version of the game is called "The Rainbow Destined to Burn." Regarding the official release date, following HoYoverse's usual update schedule, players can expect Genshin Impact update 5.1 to drop around October 9. Previous Genshin Impact leaks have suggested that players will get to explore another part of Natlan in the coming update.

According to recent beta images, the new area has a much darker tone, showing clear signs that the Pyro nation is corrupted by the Abyss. Beta leaks have also revealed numerous details about the upcoming five-star Geo user Xilonen. She will apparently be a flexible support or sub-DPS who can fit many different team compositions, which is uncommon for Geo characters in Genshin Impact. She is often compared to Kazuha, the wandering Inazuma Ronin.
Xilonen can also provide healing. However, her healing potential is not too high, so players should probably include another healer in their team composition. As expected, being the only new character, Xilonen is likely to be featured in the first banner cycle of Genshin Impact 5.1. As for the rerun five-star characters, previous Genshin Impact leaks suggest that three popular units will be featured in this update: Chiori, Hu Tao, and Nahida.
This suggests that HoYoverse will continue its pattern of releasing one Genshin Impact Archon per update after a major region arrives. The ongoing banner cycle features the Inazuma Archon, Raiden Shogun, who is placed on the same banner as the recently introduced Dendro user, Kinich. Chiori is also a Geo character who performs well even when off the field, and many fans hope that she and Xilonen will have great synergy so they can add both to their roster.
