As the leader of the Resistance Army opposing the Vision Hunt Decree, Sangonomiya Kokomi is clearly a powerful and respectable woman in Genshin Impact. She wields a Hydro Vision, a catalyst, and a signature gentle demeanor in battle.

It's fitting, then, that Kokomi's main utility in battle is as a healer. With her talents, she is capable of providing immense healing to her team, making her a great addition to a party. However, she's also able to dish out some pretty decent damage if built right, especially after using her burst. Anyone who has managed to add Kokomi to their roster will do well to upgrade her talents and ascend her. Here's everything required to do both.

Leveling Materials

Like every other Genshin Impact character, Kokomi needs over 8 million EXP to reach the maximum level of 90. Here's how much EXP and Mora are needed between each ascension level:

Sangonomiya Kokomi Ascension Items

Kokomi is one of a handful of Hydro characters in Genshin Impact, meaning she uses Varunada Lazurite gems for her ascension. Additionally, she'll need some drops from the Specters found around Inazuma and Sumeru, the Dew of Repudiation from the Hydro Hypostasis, and a local specialty of Watatsumi Island, Sango Pearls.

Gemstones - Where to Find Varunada Lazurite

Varunada Lazurite is a special elemental stone used by all Hydro characters. It can be obtained by completing daily commissions, by trading sigils to the souvenir shops in Liyue and Mondstadt, or through some other methods. The best way to grab some, though, is by defeating the bosses and weekly challenges that can drop gems.

The following bosses and weekly challenges can reward Varunada Lazurite:

• Aeonblight Drake
• Iniquitous Baptist
• Hydro Tulpa
• Solitary Suanni

*Both the Primo Geovishap and Azhdaha can only drop Varunada Lazurite when they are infused with Hydro.

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Specter Drops

The enemies known as Specters can be found around Inazuma, including in Enkanomiya. A handful can also be found dotted around Sumeru. At higher levels, they'll drop better materials that Kokomi needs for her ascension at, appropriately, higher levels.

Here's a breakdown of which Specters drop which materials:

• Any level: Spectral Husk
• Level 40+: Spectral Heart
• Level 60+: Spectral Nucleus

Specters are typically found in abundance on Seirai Island and Watatsumi Island. Check the above linked guide for all locations!

Boss Drop - How to Get Dew of Repudiation

It's almost entirely possible to farm all of Kokomi's ascension materials without ever leaving Watatsumi Island. Specters are found in abundance here; Sango Pearls are only found here and underneath the island in Enkanomiya; and the boss who drops Dew of Repudiation, the Hydro Hypostasis, calls Watatsumi home as well.

The Hydro Hypostasis is found underground, just around the northeast corner of the island in the sub-area known as Suigetsu Pool. Find a small hole with a waterfall and drop down. In this large basin under the island, the Hydro Hypostasis can be found and defeated.

Local Specialty - Where to Find Sango Pearls

Sango Pearls are, as their name suggests, found around Sangonomiya Shrine on Watatsumi Island. These pearls grow in small pink plants near water, and can be found in abundance around Suigetsu Pool, on the lower levels of Watatsumi under the Sangonomiya Shrine, and in Enkanomiya.

There are also two NPCs that sell Sango Pearls: Babak, in Sumeru's Port Ormos, and Yamashiro Kenta, who sets up shop in Ritou after the player completes the second chapter of Raiden Shogun's Story Quest, Transient Dreams. Both offer five at a time, restocking every three days. Each Pearl will cost 1,000 Mora.

Sangonomiya Kokomi Talent Materials

Kokomi uses the Transience series of talent books to upgrade her three talents. The player will also need to farm more Specter drops to upgrade the Divine Priestess's talents as well.

Talent Books - Transience

The Transience series is one of the Inazuman series of talent books. They can be obtained by clearing the Violet Court domain on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials

The special Trounce material Kokomi's talents require is the Hellfire Butterfly. These can be obtained by defeating La Signora at her weekly boss fight, Narukami Island: Tenshukaku.
