Genshin Impact fans suspect that the upcoming Fontaine region might introduce a new gliding animation to the game. Players can deploy their Gliders by pressing their jump button in the air. There are multiple gliders in the game which can be acquired either by spending Primogems or by participating in limited events.
Some Genshin Impact gliders were also given for free as a result of the game's collaborations with various restaurant chains like Pizza Hut or other online services like Prime Gaming. Since the game was introduced back in 2020, players have been asking HoYoverse to make some adjustments to the way the gliding mechanic works.
A Reddit user named lhofi has started an interesting discussion on the official Genshin Impact subreddit that gathered a lot of attention from the community. The player has pointed out an interesting detail that many players might have missed during the recent Fontaine teaser that was shown at the end of the previous Special Program event for version 3.8. While introducing some of the upcoming roster additions, the video shows that one particular female character can be seen floating through the air by using an umbrella which led many players to believe that this animation could be replicated in the game's future updates.
The character shown in the trailer is named Navia, and she's expected to be a new five-star Geo character which got many fans excited considering that the last Geo user to join the roster was Yunjin back in early 2022. Even though HoYoverse has been approximately adding two new characters per update during the whole Sumeru arc, the last new Geo user arrived to the game over 500 days ago.
Many replies in the comment section have stated that it would be cool if some five-star characters would have unique gliding mechanics. However, some of them have pointed out that if HoYoverse was about to implement such a feature in the game, they would've probably featured it in some of their additional promotional videos for Fontaine.
Travelers will probably have to wait for Navia's release to get more information about this unique character. At the moment, there are no credible leaks regarding her release date, but HoYoverse confirmed that she won't join the playable roster in the upcoming Genshin Impact version 4.0.
