Genshin Impact is introducing some notable quality-of-life improvements in Version 5.8, as players will finally be able to automatically adjust their clock in Teyvat to correspond with the currently tracked quest. While Genshin Impact has slowly added quality-of-life changes throughout its history, it feels like the developers have placed an even bigger emphasis on it since the Fontaine era. Notable examples of recent changes include a bigger Original Resin cap, a reduction of Fate Points needed on the Weapon Banner, and the addition of Artifact Loadouts.
While Artifact Loadouts in Genshin Impact still need some work, they represent HoYoverse's willingness to reduce the busy work present in some of the game's systems. This philosophy extends towards the new Dust of Enlightenment feature added in Version 5.7, as players can finally work towards guaranteeing ideal stats on any Artifact, or at the very least giving ruined Artifacts a second chance by re-rolling them.
How To Get & Use Dust of Enlightenment In Genshin Impact
Players can reroll an Artifact's sub-stat in Genshin Impact using Dust of Enlightenment; here's how to get and use Dust of Enlightenment.
According to Hexenzirkel, Version 5.8 is set to continue this trend by changing the way the in-game clock works. Namely, by pressing the tracking button for an active quest, Genshin Impact will now open the clock menu and automatically adjust the clock to the time required by the quest. Given how often the game requires players to skip a day or two, this change should minimize the more tedious part of questing in Teyvat. Among other quality-of-life changes, PlayStation players will no longer be platform-locked when claiming their Battle Pass rewards in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact May Be Removing Platform Lock on PlayStation Battle Pass Rewards
Curiously, the leak claims that Version 5.8 will allow Genshin Impact players to adjust their audio settings during a cutscene, thus making it possible to switch the game's language on the go. While details are currently unknown, Version 5.8 will also provide some type of optimization when it comes to Local Specialties in Genshin Impact. In terms of technical improvements, background animations will now pause on mobile devices whenever a new update is being downloaded or its shaders are being optimized. Given that optimizing shaders relies on performance, this may end up being a huge upgrade for mobile players.
It remains to be seen if Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact will also have a focus on quality-of-life improvements. Players are still hoping that the developers will add a weekly reserve of Original Resin beyond the current limit of 200, as well as a way to access any Talent or Weapon Domain regardless of the day. Version 5.8 is expected to launch on July 30, 2025.
