An interesting Genshin Impact poll has revealed the most popular characters on the roster. Genshin Impact's playable units are the game's main asset, which makes sense considering they are HoYoverse's primary source of revenue from this action RPG.
HoYoverse has established a trend of introducing at least one new character per update, with the Dendro user Emilie being the most recent addition. She is part of the second banner cycle of the ongoing Genshin Impact update 4.8, which also features the popular Hydro user Yelan. As the game's pool of playable characters continues to expand, it has become standard for each update to offer four limited characters with the help of banner re-runs.
A Reddit user named ResidentSpin has revealed the results of a recently conducted survey that ranks the characters by their popularity. There was no limit on the number of votes, meaning survey participants could choose as many characters as they wanted. At the top of the list, with 55% of the votes, is Fontaine's leader, Lady Furina, also known as Genshin Impact's Hydro Archon. Furina being the most popular character in the community at the moment is not a huge surprise, considering that the recent Fontaine arc revolved around this unique character. Many fans claim that, out of all the Archons in the game, Furina had the best storyline. When it comes to her power on the field, she is a very versatile Hydro support who can fit into many different team compositions.

The second spot is also taken by a Fontaine character, Genshin Impact's Hydro user Neuvillette. The top three characters all belong to the Hydro nation. Neuvillette is probably the best Hydro DPS character in Genshin Impact at the moment. He has a special kit that relies on his unique Charged Attack, which allows him to launch a powerful beam that deals massive amounts of AoE Hydro damage.
Many fans were surprised to see the Geo user Navia take the third spot, with some comments suggesting this may be due to recency bias, especially since she was recently featured on Genshin Impact's limited banner. The third and fourth spots on the list were taken by two Archons, Nahida and Zhongli.
The poll also revealed that Genshin Impact's female Traveler, Lumine, received 7% more votes than her brother, Aether. Unsurprisingly, the Cryo user Aloy, also known as the main protagonist from the Horizon series, took the last spot on the list with 1% of the votes. It should be noted that since her release, Aloy has not been featured on any banner, which likely contributed to her being the least popular character, at least according to the poll results.
