HoYoverse is giving away 1,600 Primogems for free to each Genshin Impact player, following the discovery of a major bug affecting Neuvillette in Version 4.8. These free Primogems will be sent directly to player inboxes in a new Genshin Impact update, which is expected to roll out before the launch of Version 5.0.
Released on July 17, Genshin Impact Version 4.8 introduced the Simulanka limited-time summer map, the final destination before the Traveler and Paimon leave Fontaine for Natlan. The latest Genshin Impact update sees the traveling pair team up with Kirara, Nilou, the Wanderer, and Navia to explore Simulanka, uncover secrets and treasures, and avert another crisis. Once more, Primogems are one of the most important currencies in Genshin Impact, allowing players to summon new characters like 5-star Dendro character Emilie from Event Wishes in Version 4.8.
On July 17, the official Genshin Impact Twitter account released a lengthy notice about a major bug that slowed down Hydro catalyst user Neuvillette and his Charged Attack, Equitable Judgment, confirming that a fix is on the way with 1,600 Primogems as compensation for all players. Initially, Genshin Impact Version 4.8 was supposed to deliver a fix to the abnormal rotation speed for Neuvillette's Charged Attack, which was achieved by adjusting the sensitivity or mouse DPI settings. However, the update made matters worse for the community, since many Genshin Impact players noticed that the character's Charged Attack was even slower and clunkier to use in combat than before. This fix will be rolled back in an upcoming update, which will also send the free Primogems to all players.
Genshin Impact is Giving Away 1,600 Primogems as Compensation for Major Neuvillette Bug
- Neuvillette bug fixes are arriving in a new update, likely launching before Version 5.0.
- 1,600 Primogems will be distributed with the update for free
HoYoverse notes that feedback from the Genshin Impact community led them to make their decision shortly after Version 4.8's release. The studio plans on taking more careful measures when making gameplay changes to existing Genshin Impact characters. At the very least, players will have plenty of Primogems on hand, since 1,600 Primogems is enough to draw a tenfold summon from an Event Wish. This presents an opportunity for many fans to pull some of Natlan's new playable characters in Version 5.0, if they choose to save the Primogems for the major update.
Genshin Impact Version 5.0 is expected to be released near the end of August 2024, and the next special program will be another opportunity for fans to gain more Primogems for free, since HoYoverse normally distributes three promo codes per broadcast. Once ready, HoYoverse will reveal new information about the Natlan region, the Archon Quest storyline, all-new playable characters, and upcoming events before Version 5.0 launches.
