Genshin Impact has officially announced all of the limited characters and items that will be featured in the second phase of version 4.0. This update has introduced the popular Hydro nation known as Fontaine which is filled with brand-new characters and iconic locations for Travelers to explore.
Every update in Genshin Impact has two different banner cycles, each of which contains a different set of limited characters. The first banner cycle for update 4.0 has featured the new five-star Pyro bow user Lyney and her sister Lynette who has a lower four-star rarity. The banner also includes the second re-run for the popular Hydro character Yelan.
Travelers who want to add any of these characters to their roster have a couple of days to do so since their banner is scheduled to expire around September 5. A couple of weeks ago, Genshin Impact's Special Program event confirmed which five-star characters will be featured in both banner cycles. A new announcement by the game's social media accounts has revealed which four-star characters and weapons will accompany Zhongli and Tartaglia on the phase 2 banner. According to the post, the upcoming Limited Character Banner will feature the following characters:
- Zhongli - five-star Geo polearm user
- Tartaglia - five-star Hydro bow user
- Noelle - four-star Geo claymore user
- Sayu - four-star Anemo claymore user
- Freminet - four-star Cryo claymore user
Many fans in the comment section have pointed out that all the four-star characters have the same weapon type which is unusual for the game's gacha banners. The Geo user Zhongli is probably the strongest and most useful character on the list which does not come as a surprise since he's also known as the Liyue Archon Morax.
This character can create one of the most powerful shields in the game with this Elemental Skill, Dominus Lapidis. He and Tartaglia were both released way back in Genshin Impact version 1.1 and they both played a crucial role in the Liyue arc. Tartaglia, better known as Childe, is still one of the best Hydro DPS characters on the roster thanks to a flexible play style that allows him to constantly swap between ranged and close combat.
The only new character on this banner will be Freminet who appears in Fontaine's main storyline. Similar to the five-star Cryo claymore user Eula, Freminet has a unique kit that specializes in dealing Physical damage. Both Noelle and Sayu are known as decent Genshin Impact supports who can provide tons of healing and shielding.
Genshin Impact is available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version also in development.
