Genshin Impact has officially revealed Ifa, the veterinarian of the Flower-Feather Clan, as an upcoming 4-Star Anemo Catalyst in Version 5.6. While players were aware that Ifa was making his playable debut in Version 5.6, drip marketing tends to be the first step taken by Genshin Impact when introducing new characters. This is followed by story teasers and character trailers, as well as a gameplay overview. As a 4-Star, Ifa may not necessarily have as big of a spotlight as Escoffier in Version 5.6, but that doesn't stop his fans from being excited about the patch nonetheless.
Ifa in Genshin Impact is intended to fulfill two gameplay roles: to buff the Electro-Charged reaction, and to provide group healing. While the Natlan era hasn't had a shortage of Anemo Catalysts, Ifa's ability kit provides a lot of potential when paired with Ororon. An example of a powerful team includes Ifa, Ororon, Furina, and Yelan, with Ifa being on-field, triggering Elemental Reactions and Fanfare stacks for Furina. Thanks to the recent Elemental Reaction buffs in Genshin Impact, Electro-Charged could soon shed its role as a supplementary source of damage.
Genshin Impact Leaks 4-Star Banner Characters for Version 5.6
A recent Genshin Impact leak reveals which 4-Star characters will accompany Escoffier, Navia, Kinich, and Raiden on the Event Banners in Version 5.6.
Ifa and his Saurian companion both feature on his drip marketing art, which was shared by the official Genshin Impact account on the game's subreddit. He is the 99th playable Genshin Impact character, and is set to join the cast during Version 5.6. Described as a dedicated veterinarian, Ifa puts the well-being of Natlan's Saurians above all else. From a gameplay standpoint, this is reflected in him being a group healer. As a member of the Flower-Feather Clan, Ifa can also use Cacucu's wings to traverse the land.

While Ifa in Genshin Impact will not have a Story Quest of his own due to being a 4-Star, he features prominently in the Flagship Event for Version 5.5. This format has previously given characters like Kaveh and Chevreuse a chance to shine, as they effectively function as Story Quests. Given that the developers have dramatically reduced their focus on Hangouts in Genshin Impact, this may be the most Ifa content that players will get in a long while.
An important thing to keep in mind is that Genshin Impact has no way to guarantee a featured 4-Star to any player, and as such, players should be careful with their Primogem spending when pulling for Ifa on the Event Banners in Version 5.6. With Skirk coming to Genshin Impact in Version 5.7, HoYoverse is setting the stage for Freeze's triumphant return to the meta, but for players who are interested in alternative gameplay styles such as Electro-Charged, Ifa should make them very happy. Version 5.6 is set to launch on May 7, 2025.
