- Madame Ping, an anticipated character in Genshin Impact, will likely be released during the Lantern Rite Festival in update 5.4.
- Known for her horticultural skills, Madame Ping may have a kit revolving around Plunging Attacks, a unique playstyle in the game.
- Madame Ping's ties to Yanfei and her student Xiangling suggest she will be a Polearm user, adding to the game's diverse playable roster.
A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more details about a popular character named Madame Ping, who is expected to arrive in the coming months. Madame Ping was one of the first characters introduced to the main storyline, and she was featured back in Liyue's main storyline.
It's not uncommon for Genshin Impact to add some characters to the playable roster years after they have been officially introduced. For example, Liyue's popular doctor was also introduced fairly early into Genshin Impact's main story. HoYoverse decided to turn him into a playable character a couple of years later during the Sumeru arc. As the release of a new major region approaches, players seem excited about the new roster additions.
Over the last couple of months, many credible leakers have suggested that the legendary Adeptus known as Madame Ping will join Genshin Impact's playable roster in the upcoming updates. At the moment, Madame Ping can be seen around the Yuehai Pavilion, living inside her magical teapot. The official storyline has also confirmed that she's become the caretaker of another popular character, Liyue's Pyro user Yanfei. She is known as a skillful fighter, which is also proven by the fact that she's Xiangling's and Yaoyao's current martial arts teacher. A new post by a credible leaker known as White has revealed that Madame Ping's skill module design is related to Plunging Attacks. This indicates that Madame Ping's playstyle could revolve around this type of attack, which is not too common in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: Madame Ping Release Date, Weapon Type, and Natlan Expectations
When it comes to Madame Ping's release date, players can expect her to arrive during the Lantern Rite Festival, which should drop during Genshin Impact update 5.4. Considering that her students are both Polearm users in Genshin Impact, many Travelers suspect that she will have the same weapon type.
Only certain characters, such as Xiao and Gaming, have their kits rely on Plunging Attacks. Many fans in the comment section claim that they expect Madame Ping's kit to have a botanical theme, considering that her horticultural skills are unparalleled among the Adepti. When it comes to her playable version, her younger form was revealed during one of Genshin Impact's story teasers named Echoes of the Heart.
Another character from the video, Xianyun, also known as Cloud Retainer, has already joined the roster, which gives more credibility to the rumors about Madame Ping becoming a playable unit. Story-wise, it's unlikely that Madame Ping will impact Natlan's storyline due to her strong ties to Genshin Impact's Geo nation.
