The latest beta build is introducing further buffs for Xilonen in Genshin Impact, but arguably at a steep cost to the overall balance of the game. Though every region in Genshin Impact has introduced its fair share of meta characters, such as Alhaitham and Neuvillette, an argument could be made that Xilonen has steadily become the definition of a "must pull" unit. Her role as a universal Geo Support makes Xilonen invaluable to a wide array of teams, as Neuvillette, Navia, and Arlecchino all stand to benefit from having her in the party.
Even during her initial announcement, Xilonen was met with plenty of excitement from Genshin Impact fans – both from a design perspective, and due to the potential of her ability kit. In addition to providing the buff from the new Artifact Set from Version 5.0, Xilonen provides elemental resistance shredding, as well as healing to her teammates. The only niche unavailable to her is shielding, where Zhongli in Genshin Impact still remains unchallenged.

Xilonen's ability kit in Genshin Impact made its way to the beta in a powerful state, and rather unexpectedly, the developers kept giving her buffs with each passing build. The latest changes were documented by HomDGCat, and they specifically concern Xilonen's second and sixth Constellation. Whereas the latter is intended for Genshin Impact accounts that aren't afraid to heavily invest in new characters, a significant number of casual fans are cautiously wondering if it's worth pulling for Xilonen's C2.

Xilonen's Geo Source Sample will always remain active. Additionally, when her Source Samples activate, all nearby party members will gain effects corresponding to the active Source Sample that matches their elemental type.
- Geo: Elemental DMG +50% (up from 40%).
- Pyro: ATK +45% (up from 40%).
- Hydro: Max HP +45% (up from 40%).
- Cryo: CRIT DMG +60% (up from 50%).
- Electro: Restore 25 Energy (up from 20), decrease Elemental Burst CD by 6s (up from 5s).
C6 – Imperishable Night Carnival

When Xilonen is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, when she sprints, leaps, or uses Normal or Plunging Attacks, she will gain Imperishable Night's Blessing, ignoring the limitations of her Nightsoul's Blessing state and increasing the DMG dealt by her Normal and Plunging Attacks for 5s. During this time:
- Her Nightsoul's Blessing time limit countdown will be paused. Xilonen's Nightsoul points, Phlogiston, and Stamina will not decrease, and when her Nightsoul points reach the maximum, her Nightsoul's Blessing state will not end either.
- Xilonen deals 300% of her DEF as increased Normal and Plunging Attack DMG while in the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
- Every 1.5s, heals HP equal to 120% of Xilonen's DEF for all nearby party members. (New)
- She can gain 1 Imperishable Night's Blessing once every 15s.
The changes can best be summed up as an overall increase to the buffs provided by Xilonen's C2, while her C6 now provides party-wide healing as well, upgrading Xilonen's role from a single-target healer. Though the Geo element in Genshin Impact is finally receiving the heavy hitters it deserves, some players can't help but wonder if HoYoverse is starting to dabble with power creep.
Genshin Impact is often praised for avoiding power creep, despite its longevity as a gacha, but the recent changes to the Spiral Abyss, and the rise of characters such as Xilonen, have made the community feel just as apprehensive as they are excited. Xilonen will firmly entrench herself in the meta when Version 5.1 for Genshin Impact comes out, and will likely replace Kazuha and Zhongli in a decent number of teams. However, it remains to be seen if she will be an exception in the wider scheme of things, or a sign of things to come.
