Summary
- Xilonen in Version 5.1 of Genshin Impact is designed as a Geo support for various elements.
- Recent beta changes make Xilonen suitable for Mono Geo party compositions as a secondary support.
- Trading CRIT RATE for Elemental Damage can benefit Geo and non-Geo teams in endgame content.
The latest beta build for Version 5.1 brings some exciting changes for Xilonen in Genshin Impact, as the upcoming Geo Support is expected to become an exciting addition to the meta. While every region in Genshin Impact has its fair share of meta characters, it's often the Supports that end up having the biggest amount of value long-term. Recent examples include Furina, Nahida, and Xianyun, who have enabled many new teams in Genshin Impact to compete in endgame content such as the Spiral Abyss.
Whereas Nahida has effectively established Hyperbloom teams as the new standard, Xilonen in Genshin Impact is almost meant to be her counterweight. Since Dendro and Anemo have plenty of Support characters for their respective elements, Xilonen is purposefully designed with Geo, Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, and Electro in mind. Her resistance shred only works with the aforementioned elements, and she provides no benefit to Dendro and Anemo teammates – where characters such as Emilie and Faruzan are preferred.
Genshin Impact: Brilliant Chrysanthemum Locations & Farming Route
Players looking to farm for Xilonen, a Natlan character in Genshin Impact, should follow this Brilliant Chrysanthemum farming route.
However, the latest beta build for Version 5.1 reveals that Xilonen may become a viable teammate for one additional party composition. Thanks to the changes made to her second Constellation, Xilonen will now be able to become an off-field Support for Mono Geo teams in Genshin Impact as well. The information was provided by HomDGCat, and shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit. That being said, it does come with a cost, as Xilonen's movement speed passive has been removed, and her CRIT RATE buffs have been replaced by Elemental Damage bonuses. It should be noted that the latter applies to both her Constellation and Signature Weapon.
Genshin Impact Version 5.1 Xilonen Beta Changes
Ascension Passive 4
- When triggering Nightsoul Transmission, regenerates 15 Phlogiston.
Constellation 2
-
Xilonen's Geo Source Samples will always be active. When Xilonen's Source Samples are active, all nearby party members will gain effects corresponding to the active Source Sample that matches their elemental type.
- Geo: +40% DMG
- Pyro: +40% ATK
- Hydro: +40% HP
- Cryo: +50% CRIT DMG
- Electro: Restore 20 Energy, Elemental Burst cooldown reduced by 5 seconds.
Signature Weapon
- Gain "Ode to Flowers" after Normal or Plunging Attacks hit an opponent: DEF increases by 6%/7.5%/9%/10.5%/12% for 6 seconds. Max 2 stacks. Can trigger once every 0.1 seconds. When this effect reaches 2 stacks or the second stack's duration is refreshed, for every 1,000 DEF the equipping character has, all nearby party members gain an All Elemental DMG bonus of 12%/15%/18%/21%/24%, up to a maximum of 36%/45%/54%/63%/72%, for 15 seconds.
While the removal of Xilonen's movement speed bonus from her Ascension Passive further diminishes her value as an exploration character, an argument could be made that trading CRIT RATE for Elemental Damage stands to benefit both Geo and non-Geo hypercarries. Given how easy it can be to cap CRIT RATE with proper artifacts in Genshin Impact, having an extra source of Elemental Damage is more valuable for well-built teams.
An example of a powerful Navia team in Genshin Impact would be with Xilonen, Furina, and Yelan as teammates. Since Xilonen does not work with Anemo teammates such as Xianyun, this does sadly put Plunge teams for Navia at a disadvantage. Some players argue that locking Mono Geo for a Geo character behind Constellations is problematic, but it would seem Xilonen is more intended for "Rainbow" teams compared to someone like Chiori. Both Chiori and Xilonen will headline the first half banners in Version 5.1, which is expected to launch on October 9, 2024.
