Summary
- In Version 4.5 of Genshin Impact, Fontaine region characters shine in Spiral Abyss teams for easier clears.
- Blessings in Version 4.5 cater to Geo characters first, then Swirl, affecting team makeup and strategies.
- New enemies like the Black Serpent Knight and Automated Supercomputing Field Generator add challenge in Spiral Abyss.
With Version 4.5 on the horizon, a recent leak reveals the Spiral Abyss enemies coming to Genshin Impact in the next update. Though many teams are viable in the overworld, Spiral Abyss is intended to be the closest thing to an endgame that Genshin Impact has. Proper team building, optimized artifacts, wielding the right weapon – these factors become front-and-center in the Spiral Abyss, and some characters are better suited to tackling its challenges than others.
When it comes to Spiral Abyss teams in Genshin Impact, the Fontaine region has seen Neuvillette and Alhaitham emerge at the very top of the meta, offering a comfortable playstyle that can help clear all floors in the Spiral Abyss with relative ease. However, the bonus that the Spiral Abyss provides each Version, as well as its enemy selection for Floor 12, tends to affect which characters stand to benefit the most.
The Argument for Higher Resin Limit in Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact has so much to do and experience in-game, but not enough resin or fragile resin for players to use to play through it all.
For Version 4.5, HomDGCat Wiki revealed that the Blessings of the Spiral Abyss would benefit Geo characters for the first two moons, while the last one would have a boost to Swirl instead. The enemy load-out for the Spiral Abyss in Version 4.5 of Genshin Impact brings back the Black Serpent Knight, who hasn't made an appearance since Version 3.8, and the Dirge of Coppelia – who has become something of a regular. More curiously, it also features a Local Legend for the first time in Genshin Impact's history: the Automated Supercomputing Field Generator.

Arrowgale Moon |
When a character triggers the Swirl reaction, all party members' Normal, Charged, and Plunge Attack DMG is increased by 20% for 10 seconds, max 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s and each stack is timed independently. |
The enemy loadout may not necessarily seem ideal for mono Geo teams built around Chiori or Itto in Genshin Impact, but coupled with the first two Blessings, these two characters should make quick work of the enemies that await in the second half of the Spiral Abyss. On the other hand, players can expect to see Neuvillette easily handle the first half, whereas the third Blessing encourages the use of Kazuha.
Incidentally, these four 5-Star characters will feature on the Version 4.5 banners in Genshin Impact, though there have also been other leaks that point towards HoYoverse adding a brand-new banner type to the game. While the current details are unknown, it's expected to feature Albedo and even other Mondstadt 5-Stars in its lineup. Albedo and Chiori both make use of Geo constructs, which should make the first Blessing extremely beneficial to those two characters. Ultimately, Version 4.5 is expected to be a quieter patch, as Genshin Impact slowly sets the stage for Arlecchino's debut in Version 4.6.
