Genshin Impact's combat system relies on triggering various elemental reactions, and it allows players to have up to four different characters in one team composition. Having two characters with the same element will trigger an effect called Elemental Resonance.
At the moment, there are seven different types of Elemental Resonance and HoYoverse is about to introduce another one in the form of the new Dendro element. This addition will have a significant effect on all the other elements in Genshin Impact.
A new Genshin Impact leak reveals more information about the upcoming changes for two Elemental Resonances. Two of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers, Ubatcha1 and Genshin Intel, have revealed the changed effects for two new resonances, including a new one for with upcoming Dendro:
- Hydro resonance - players are affected by Pyro for 40% less time and the effect increases max. HP by 25%
- Electro Resonance - Affects by Hydro for 40% less time. Superconduct, Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Quicken, Intensify, or Hyperbloom have a 100% chance of generating an Elemental particle. This effect has a 5-second cooldown
- Dendro resonance - increases characters' Elemental Mastery by 50. Triggering Burning, Catalyze or Bloom will grant an additional 30 Elemental Master buff for 6 seconds. Triggering Aggravate, Spread, Hyperbloom or Burgeon will increase nearby party members' Elemental Mastery by 20
Multiple replies claim that all of these changes will result in a huge buff for Hydro users who will most likely dominate the upcoming character meta in Genshin Impact. The HP increase will especially benefit the recently released five-star character, Yelan, since a big part of her kit scales with HP. Another reason why Hydro will become one of the best elements in the game is the fact that it triggers Bloom when combined with Dendro.
The Dendro resonance effect makes sense since HoYoverse already confirmed that the new element will scale with Elemental Mastery. According to recent leaks, Dendro will apparently be a very supportive element since it can trigger tons of different elemental reactions. It seems Dendro characters will become a must-have for almost every team composition.
Developer HoYoverse has already confirmed the arrival of three new characters: Tighnari, Collei, and Dori. Some players suspect that the new four-star character, Collei, could actually be stronger than the five-star DPS Tighnari due to her ability for constant Dendro application. The new Electro resonance probably won't have a significant impact on the current state of Electro characters.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
