A recent leak from Genshin Impact has given players a deep dive into the collection of cards available in the game's upcoming TCG mode. With just under three weeks left until the next update for HoYoVerse's massively popular RPG, players have already been given plenty of information about all the new content in the coming patch. Version 3.3 will welcome two new characters in Wanderer and Faruzan alongside an Artifact set for players to acquire and the return of the popular Windtrace event. However, one of the most notable updates coming in 3.3 is the brand-new TCG mode.
Genshin Impact first revealed the upcoming "Genius Invokation TCG" early on in the game's Version 3 lifecycle, confirming it as a permanent feature coming in Version 3.3. Subsequent updates have given players an idea of how the game will fit into the world of Teyvat, featuring cards designed after Genshin's many characters and bosses. The TCG has also been frequently referenced in-game as well through a variety of quests, with playable character Cyno being a fan of the game. Now, a new leak has divulged tons of information about the game's cards.
A compilation of recent leaks from prominent Genshin Impact database Honey has shared details about card art, names, and effects for all of the cards planned to come with the launch of Genius Invokation TCG. The massive spreadsheet compiles information on the featured Characters, Equip cards, Support cards, and Event cards. Each character card added to the game will have a corresponding Talent card featuring powerful effects that activate when their character is active. Equip cards can come as character-specific Talents, general Weapons providing stats, and Artifacts with special effects.
The Genshin Impact TCG database gives more information about Genius Invokation's Support and Event cards, which feature powerful effects that can turn the tides of a game. Support cards have effects that range from allowing players to draw more cards during the end of their turn to healing a player's characters. Event cards offer similarly powerful game-changing strategies with the ability to reward deck-building around certain elements or destroy your opponent's cards. The sheet also features a list of the many keywords used throughout various cards.
While many fans are excited for Genshin Impact's upcoming TCG mode, the permanent game mode has not been free from criticism, particularly from combat-favoring players. Genshin Impact has been heavily criticized for its lack of endgame content beyond the Spiral Abyss with many fans wanting more combat-focused gameplay. Players have criticized the game's focus on features like the Serenitea Pot and the new TCG mode, rather than offering more ways to use their characters. While no new combat endgame seems to be coming, the new TCG should look to appeal to many Genshin fans.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
