A new leak from Genshin Impact is sharing details about a combat event planned to feature during Version 4.4, focusing around trial characters. Throughout the game's many updates, HoYoverse has tried its hand at a variety of different events and challenges within the massively popular RPG. The developer has often rolled out different mini-games as a part of the RPG's events, ranging from the tower defense-style "Theater Mechanicus" to the permanent addition of "Genius Invokation TCG" as a Genshin Impact TCG. However, combat events have always been a staple of the game's updates.
HoYoverse has featured a plethora of different combat events within Genshin Impact, each with its own twists and rewards. Events like "Hypostatic Symphony" pit players against a "boss rush" of the game's Hypostasis enemies with different buffs, while others like Fayz Trials feature unique mechanics like capturing enemy weaknesses with a Kamera. Many of these events also give players the chance to test out Trial characters, both featuring new five-star characters and older characters suited for a certain challenge. Genshin Impact's next event will reportedly put an emphasis on trying out new characters.

Each challenge will begin with six characters to choose from, allowing players to carry over select characters with some new choices added to the pool during each stage. The event will also give players the chance to try out several of Genshin Impact's newest characters including Furina, Navia, and Wriothesley.
Genshin Impact's newest trial character-focused event comes as the game offers plenty of ways for players to try out characters before they pull on the gacha. Each gacha banner adds a new "Test Run," allowing players to test out the featured characters and earn Primogems as rewards. Genshin Impact's Story Quests also typically allows players to control the featured character during the mission's combat sequences, recently adding a Story Quest for new five-star character Navia. Genshin Impact's Version 4.4 is expected to launch on January 31.
