Summary
- Varesa in Genshin Impact gets powerful buffs like increased damage and fall damage reduction with new effects.
- Another new Natlan character, Iansan, joins Varesa in the next update of Genshin Impact Version 5.5 with a lower rarity.
- The leaked buffs for Varesa in Genshin Impact tie to the Natlan region's mechanics, enhancing immersion but complicating team building.
A Genshin Impact leak has revealed that the upcoming five-star Electro user, Varesa, has received a couple of powerful buffs. Genshin Impact has officially released Varesa's splash art and introduction, which is its way of announcing a new character for the next update.
According to the announcements, Varesa won't be the only new character arriving in Genshin Impact Version 5.5, as another Natlan character, Iansan, has also been officially confirmed. Recent beta leaks suggest that Varesa will be a five-star character, while Iansan will have a lower four-star rarity.
Genshin Impact Trick Accurately Calculates Teyvat's True Size
A Genshin Impact player demonstrates an interesting experiment that lets them calculate the exact width of the current Teyvat continent.
Before each Genshin Impact update arrives, HoYoverse hosts a beta phase that includes most of the upcoming content, including new playable units. A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed that Varesa has received many sizable buffs in the current beta. According to the leak, the buffs affect Varesa's Passive Talents, which are an important part of each character's build. The first buff increases the damage multiplier from 25% to 60% for her Plunging Attack during the Rainbow Crash effect, which can be activated with her Elemental Skill. Varesa's P2 has also been improved, so when a party member uses a Nightsoul Burst, she will receive a 35% buff instead of the previous 30%.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Important Passive Talent Buffs for Varesa
Varesa's P3 is slightly more complex, triggering when Genshin Impact's Nightsoul points have been fully depleted. Once this happens, Varesa will switch to using Phlogiston to maintain her Sudden Onrush mode. HoYoverse has added a new effect that reduces fall damage while she is in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics. Both her P2 and P3 are tied to the Natlan region and its mechanics, which is not surprising.
While some fans appreciate that tying characters to their region enhances overall immersion, it also makes it harder to surround them with the right supporting team. Most Genshin Impact characters from Natlan have parts of their kits that only trigger when another Nightsoul effect is present in the game. Notably, the Nightsoul system is exclusive to Natlan characters, similar to how Bond of Life is exclusive to Fontaine characters.
Overall, fans seem pleased with Varesa's power, especially since she will be a unique DPS character in Genshin Impact. Only a few DPS units in the game have kits that revolve around using the Plunging Attack. As for Varesa's exact release date, she will most likely be featured in the first phase of the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 5.5, which, according to HoYoverse's usual update schedule, should drop around March 26.
