A new leak from Genshin Impact is seemingly confirming that fans of Shenhe will have to wait even longer for the popular Cryo unit to receive another re-run banner. With over four years of new character releases, the beloved RPG from HoYoverse boasts a wide and diverse cast of different characters to choose from. HoYoverse also regularly features re-run banners for its past characters with each update, giving fans a chance to pick up popular and powerful cast members they may have missed. However, one character in particular has been waiting for a while to see their return.
Since her first introduction in Version 2.4, Shenhe has been a popular choice for many Genshin Impact fplayers, owed to her unique utility in combat. Shenhe provides a plethora of powerful effects for Cryo team compositions, with her abilities boosting her allies' Cryo DMG and shredding enemies' Cryo resistance. Shenhe has been a particularly common pair with many of the game's historically powerful Cryo DPS characters, including Ganyu and Ayaka. Now, Shenhe's long-awaited return to the game's limited gacha banner looks to still be far off.
Genshin Impact Leak De-Confirms Version 5.2 Shenhe Re-Run
A recent update shared by prominent Genshin Impact leaker hxg_diluc via fellow leaker DK2 is revealing the current status of Shenhe's re-run. According to the post, Shenhe is not expected to appear on one of the re-run banners during the game's Version 5.2 update, currently expected to launch in November. The lack of an appearance for Shenhe in Version 5.2 comes as the Cryo character has not been available for players to acquire in-game for more than a year. Shenhe's last appearance on Genshin Impact's limited gacha banner came with the Version 3.5 update, alongside a re-run of Ayaka.
The lack of a Shenhe re-run in Version 5.2 continues the Liyue character's current run as the longest Genshin Impact five-star character to not see a re-run. Shenhe did not appear on Genshin Impact's limited gacha banner at all throughout the game's entire Fontaine cycle, last appearing in the middle of Genshin Impact's Sumeru cycle. Shenhe's absence also joins a recent drought of new Cryo characters in Genshin Impact, with the last new Cryo roster member debuting in Version 4.2 with four-star character Charlotte.
While Genshin Impact has gone nearly a year since its last Cryo character, leaks are suggesting fans of the ice element won't have to wait much longer. Natlan character Citlali is heavily rumored to be making her Genshin Impact debut in Version 5.3, expected to join the roster as the game's newest Cryo element cast member. Citlali is also believed to be coming to the game alongside the debut of highly-anticipated Pyro Archon Mavuika during the Version 5.3 update. Fans of the Cryo element shouldn't have to wait much longer to see the element return to Genshin Impact's spotlight.
