A Genshin Impact leak has revealed the appearance of the two upcoming skins for popular Cryo characters, Shenhe and Ganyu, which are expected to arrive in the upcoming months. Even though each new update focuses on the playable roster, HoYoverse does not release too many alternative outfits for their characters, at least compared to other gacha games.
Genshin Impact usually releases new skins around their two annual events, the Lantern Rite Festival and the Summer event. The last two outfits featured two older characters, the free-to-play 4-star Cryo user Kaeya and the troublesome Pyro user Klee who was part of the game's first update.

A Genshin Impact fan points out many notable similarities between Bennett and a mysterious Natlan character revealed back in 2020.
A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed the appearance of the two new outfits for Shenhe and Ganyu that will be included in the upcoming Lantern Rite Festival, which is expected to be featured in Version 4.4. Even though the images are somewhat blurry, players have noticed that the skins look similar to some of the previous outfits released during this event. Leaks have also revealed that there will be an additional outfit for the four-star Liyue character Xingqiu. This skin will most likely be obtainable for free by completing some of the event-exclusive quests that will be part of the update. According to previous rumors, the three upcoming outfits will have the following names:
- Ganyu - Mysterious Jade Fragrance
- Shenhe - Cold Flower, Secret Dew
- Xingqiu - Rain Transforms the Bamboo
Some fans have pointed out that it makes sense that Shenhe, Ganyu, and Xingqiu are getting new skins during the Lantern Rite event considering that all three of them belong to the Liyue region and are important to its main storyline. The festival is always held in the Geo nation, which is inspired by Chinese culture and tradition.
Ganyu is one of the oldest characters on the roster as she was released back in version 1.2 alongside the Mondstadt alchemist Albedo. She is still considered a powerful Cryo user who can dish out tons of damage, which is why Ganyu is usually used in the main DPS or sub-DPS roles. Shenhe is also a Cryo character who benefits from having other Cryo users in her party which makes her the perfect support for Ganyu.
Despite having a lower rarity, Xingqiu is probably the most popular character out of the three. The fact that he is a four-star unit makes Xingqiu a very free-to-play friendly unit, as players can easily level up all of his constellation levels. When it comes to new character additions for Genshin Impact version 4.4, HoYoverse has not yet disclosed any official details.
