Summary

  • Version 5.0 of Genshin Impact updates player profiles to showcase more characters and Constellations for a personalized experience.
  • Co-op play is still a key component, allowing players to team up for weekly bosses and share materials in the vast world of Teyvat.
  • The game continues to evolve with quality-of-life updates like increased resin cap, Artifact attribute selection, and expanded profile features.

Genshin Impact is sprucing up the player profile screen in Version 5.0, as accounts will now be able to showcase another row of characters, and even boast about their Constellations. While Genshin Impact can largely be enjoyed alone, and the Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater are designed as solo content, the game still possesses a co-op component. Players can team up to tackle weekly bosses, share character materials, or even help with most treasure puzzles.

Given the gacha nature of the game, a lot of players also seek to highlight their favorite characters and other noteworthy accomplishments. The current profile system allows players to choose an avatar, a banner, and to highlight a total of eight owned characters that other players can inspect in detail. While this allows for plenty of personalization, the roster of Genshin Impact characters continues to grow, as Version 5.0 will add Kinich, Mualani, and Kachina to the list.

As a result, Version 5.0 is also launching with an overhaul of the player profile, allowing up to twelve characters to be displayed. The leak was shared by ukrisreng on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, showcasing the new user interface. While the general format of the profile remains the same, having four more character slots is a huge deal for older accounts whose number of limited 5-Stars is in the double digits. Furthermore, the new profile also lists the Constellations of Genshin Impact characters that a player has chosen to highlight, whether out of pride or, in the case of certain Standard Banner regulars, misery.

Genshin Impact Players Can Showcase Up to 12 Characters on the New Profiles

Fontaine kicked off a string of important quality-of-life updates for Genshin Impact, and the Natlan era seems poised to continue the trend. Between an increased resin cap, the ability to pick Artifact attributes, and not having to deal with a world boss timer, the Genshin Impact of Version 5.0 will be a different beast altogether when compared to Version 4.0.

While there is still Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah to explore after the fiery mesas of Natlan, it's safe to say that Genshin Impact is approaching the finale of its Teyvat chapter with full confidence. A lot of the changes made to Genshin Impact in 2024 have not only been about player convenience, but also about preparing the game for the long haul. Though the Chronicled Banner was arguably a less-than-ideal attempt to de-clutter the character waiting lists in Genshin Impact, the updated profiles should at least be future-proof for the next few regions.
