A new Genshin Impact leak is sharing more details about a major gameplay mechanic expected to be utilized by multiple upcoming Natlan characters. Since the initial release of the HoYoverse RPG in late 2020, the game has featured a wide variety of different characters, with many bearing their own unique mechanics and playstyles. Genshin Impact currently boasts 84 playable characters as of the launch of Version 4.8, with Emilie's launch during the update's second half coming as the 85th. However, one unique gimmick from Fontaine is looking to be carried over to the game's next region.
The launch of Genshin Impact's Fontaine region saw a brand-new mechanic introduced to the game, tied to several of the Hydro region's characters. The "Bond of Life" mechanic affects the player's ability to heal characters, granting special bonuses when players pass a certain threshold of HP restored. Many of Fontaine's later characters, including Arlecchino, Clorinde, and Sigewinne, make use of Bond of Life to provide effects ranging from increased damage to bonus outward healing. Now, Natlan is set to boast its own unique mechanic utilized by the region's characters.

Genshin Impact Leak Details New "Nightsoul Burst" Mechanic
A new leak shared to the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit is providing more details about the "Nightsoul Burst" mechanic set to feature in Natlan. Nightsoul Burst reportedly triggers when an enemy is hit with elemental damage, with different Natlan characters using the status effect in different ways. The post also reveals that players will be able to lower the cooldown for Nightsoul Burst by adding more characters using the effect to the party, bringing the cooldown as low as 9 seconds for 3 Nightsoul characters.
While HoYoverse has yet to officially confirm Natlan's Nightsoul Burst mechanic, leaks have already begun to tease how Version 5.0's characters will use the effect. Kachina is rumored to utilize Nightsoul Burst as part of her Elemental Skill, dealing bonus damage with her Geo Construct once she activates the effect. Mualani is also expected to gain mobility-focused effects by using Nightsoul, providing increased movement speed and imbuing her Normal Attacks with Hydro damage. The Nightsoul Burst mechanic is rumored to debut with the Version 5.0 update in late August.
Version 5.0's impending launch will bring plenty to the table as part of Genshin Impact's next major update. Alongside the launch of Natlan and the introduction of three new playable characters, leaks have hinted at a plethora of quality-of-life updates in Version 5.0, including the ability to skip Floors 9 and 10 of the Spiral Abyss.
