A recent leak from Genshin Impact is once again hinting at the addition of a brand-new expansion for Mondstadt, teasing the long-rumored addition of Dornman Port. While new regions typically take the focus of the HoYoverse RPG's patch cycles, the developer has often brought players back to previous regions with new areas to explore. Liyue, in particular, has seen the brunt of Genshin Impact's post-release expansions, adding both The Chasm and Chenyu Vale to the game. Now, Genshin Impact's original region may finally be receiving another expansion soon enough.
While Mondstadt serves as Genshin Impact's oldest playable region, the Anemo region has not seen many major expansions since its debut in Version 1.0. Mondstadt's only major playable expansion came with the release of Version 1.2, adding the frigid peaks of Dragonspine at the southern end of the region. While other locations within Mondstadt, like the Dandelion Sea and Dornman Port, have seen rumors and in-game references, HoYoverse has yet to release another sizable expansion to Mondstadt. However, new leaks are suggesting that fans may finally get to see a Mondstadt expansion soon.

Genshin Impact Leak Teases Dornman Port Expansion
A recent update shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker Seele Leaks is giving even more hints about the eventual addition of Dornman Port. The leak shares several pieces of dialogue, seemingly from recurring event character Liben, talking about Dornman Port and providing more details about the seaside town. Liben hints at Dornman Port as being a "port town built on cargo shipping and flower cultivation," teasing it as a laid-back and peaceful town on Mondstadt's northern side. The post does not give a definitive window for when the Mondstadt update will be added to Genshin Impact.
The debut of Dornman Port coincides with a heavier focus on Mondstadt and some of its associated characters throughout Nod-Krai's story. HoYoverse listed Mondstadt's Knights of Favonius as one of the major factions involved in Nod-Krai, officially seeing the long-awaited first in-game appearance of Grand Master Varka. The Hexenzirkel is also said to be heavily intertwined with the region's story, even teasing new buffs for several Hexenzirkel-aligned Mondstadt characters like Klee, Venti, and Fischl. Jean's in-game "Birthday Mail" for 2025 even referenced Dornman Port, with her mother reportedly sent to the port town.
Genshin Impact's upcoming updates look to be giving fans lots to be excited about for the future of the HoYoverse RPG. The recently-released Luna 2 update brought back several past characters for the new Archon Quest, with characters like Albedo, Arlecchino, and Dainsleif returning for the new story. The patch also brought with it the introduction of Genshin Impact's user-generated content game mode, officially welcoming the debut of Miliastra Wonderland. A new expansion to Mondstadt could look to breathe some fresh air into Genshin Impact's original playable region.
