A Genshin Impact leak reveals that players will be able to obtain a new free weapon in the upcoming Version 5.6 update. For a long time, Genshin Impact has followed a pattern of offering various characters and weapons for free as part of a limited-time event that is usually exclusive to that update.
In the previous update, Genshin Impact players had the option to obtain a powerful polearm named Tamayuratei no Ohanashi for free. Completing additional objectives after acquiring the weapon allows players to increase its refinement levels, which greatly impacts its stats.

As usual, with the start of a new update, Genshin Impact also launches a beta phase for the next version, which contains a wealth of content, including new regions, characters, weapons, and more. The beta phase has already revealed that the upcoming update will introduce at least two characters: Escoffier and Ifa. Escoffier will be a five-star Cryo user from Fontaine, while Ifa is confirmed to be an Anemo user from Natlan, expected to have a lower four-star rarity. The beta leaks for Genshin Impact Version 5.6 also contain a new free four-star weapon. While the weapon’s name remains unknown, leaks have confirmed that it will be a four-star bow.
Genshin Impact Reveals Details of New Free Four-star Weapon

- Secondary Stat: Increases HP by 41.4%
- Passive Effect: Attacking an enemy in Genshin Impact with this weapon will deal AoE damage at the target’s location. The damage scales with the character’s max HP and can be triggered only once every 15 seconds.
Overall, fans don’t seem pleased with the weapon, as its passive effect is tied to max HP, a stat that most characters don’t focus on. DPS characters in Genshin Impact typically scale best with ATK and CRIT stats. HP-based damage scaling is usually reserved for Hydro characters, meaning this weapon may not be as effective for characters with other Visions. The leak also revealed that the bow’s base ATK has been buffed, but many players agree that this change won’t make much of a difference since this stat is less important for Hydro users.
At the moment, there are only three Hydro bow users in Genshin Impact: Tartaglia, Sigewinne, and Yelan. Among them, Yelan might be the only one who could find some use for this bow. While most fans seem disappointed with the weapon’s passive effect, others speculate that it may be designed for a future four-star character. Although rare, it wouldn’t be the first time HoYoverse has introduced a weapon or artifact set before releasing a new character whose kit complements its playstyle.
