A Genshin Impact leaker gives more information about the upcoming characters that will be tied with the new Fontaine region. The game's main continent, Teyvat, consists of seven major regions, one for each of the seven divine elements.

According to multiple Genshin Impact rumors, Fontaine will be the fifth region to arrive and will be home to the Hydro Archon, known as Focalors or God of Justice. The design of each region in the world of Teyvat is apparently inspired by a real-life location, and Fontaine will be based on France, the largest country in Western Europe.

Over the last couple of weeks, numerous leaks have been hinting at the new major region named Fontaine, as well as its playable characters. An interesting leak recently revealed 10 characters that will appear in Fontaine which led many players to believe that these will be the only characters that come with the new region. However, a popular leaker named SpendYourPrimos has confirmed that there will be at least two or three more playable units that were not part of the previous leaks, including a tall male character. There is not a lot of confirmed information about the new region other than that it features Hydro as its symbolic element. Every region has its divine ideals, and Fontaine's residents seem to worship technology and justice above all else.

The only confirmed Fontaine characters are Lyney and Lynette, whose appearance was revealed in one of Genshin Impact's first story teasers back in 2020. The overall design for the Hydro Archon Focalors will be very similar to Seele, a character from HoYoverse's second most popular title, Honkai Impact 3rd. This would not be the first time for Genshin Impact to base their designs on Honkai's characters as many existing playable units such as Yae Miko, Kazuha, Ayaka, and many others, have their respective counterparts in the other game.

According to previous leaks, Fontaine will apparently have an interesting steampunk theme. Many fans hope that some of the upcoming Hydro characters will have the ability to control steam with their elemental powers. When it comes to Fontaine's location, the new region is expected to be placed north of the new Sumeru deserts, and it will probably be connected to the western part of Liyue.

Another credible leaker named merlin_impact has stated that Genshin Impact will introduce a Mondstadt expansion before the new major region arrives. The leaker also claims that some of the previously leaked Fontaine characters are actually tied with Mondstadt.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
