Genshin Impact may be introducing a new Mondstadt character in Version 5.5, as a recent leak seems to depict the final design for a female 5-Star Catalyst. Despite being the first region introduced in Genshin Impact, Mondstadt has been woefully underrepresented in content updates following the launch of Inazuma. The latest Mondstadt character added to the game was Mika in Version 3.5, while there have been no new Mondstadt 5-Stars since Eula in Version 1.5.
During the Fontaine era, Inazuma, Sumeru, and Liyue have all seen newcomers added to their cast of characters, with Chiori in particular being a popular addition. While the Genshin Impact community strongly believed Dahlia would become playable as a deacon of the Church of Favonius, no Mondstadt character was released during the content cycle for Fontaine. As Natlan rumors hint towards a Mondstadt map expansion for Genshin Impact, HoYoverse may finally be looking to expand the roster of the Anemo Nation.
While Dahlia's concept art was already released via earlier leaks, the character sheet shared by Iris Leaks implies a new character altogether. Reminiscent of gothic and steampunk fashion, this new Genshin Impact character uses the Medium Female model, and appears to have a Pyro vision of Mondstadt. Given that Kirara, Lyney, Charlotte, and Lynette all had different visions during their character sheets, her role as a Pyro user isn't guaranteed. In fact, Iris Leaks claims that the new character is a 5-Star Electro Catalyst instead.
Genshin Impact May Have a New 5-Star Character from Mondstadt in Version 5.5
The leak explains that the new Mondstadt character will be released in Version 5.5, and though no information is known about her ability kit, many players are hoping that Genshin Impact takes another look at improving the Superconduct elemental reaction. Given that Yae Miko in Genshin Impact already fulfills the Aggravate playstyle, it makes sense that the developers would try something different with the upcoming Catalyst character.
While 4-Star characters in Genshin Impact can be powerful in their own right, Natlan is expected to prioritize 5-Star characters during its content cycle. Assuming the leak turns out to be true, Natlan will only have three 4-Stars by the end of Version 5.5 – with Ororon, Kachina, and the annual Lantern Rite character being the sole examples. As Genshin Impact slowly sets the stage for Snezhnaya, a visit to Mondstadt seems mandatory. Though it remains to be seen what kind of role the new Electro Catalyst character will play, her design already seems to be popular in the Genshin Impact community.
