Each character's kit in Genshin Impact can be divided into three main parts: Normal Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Bursts. The game allows players to quickly swap between four characters at a time, so they can combine their elements and trigger different elemental reactions which give additional depth to the game's fighting system.
The islands of Inazuma have brought an abundance of new characters, most of whom possess the Electro vision, which made the element go from being underused to one of the strongest in Genshin Impact. According to multiple leaks, players might have the option to add a brand-new element to their party soon.
A post on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has apparently revealed how the elemental reactions for a new Dendro element might work. Reddit user Little_Kazuha is known in the community for sharing leaks from different sources. Dendro is the only missing element in the current character roster, but it seems as though the arrival of the first characters using this element is just around the corner. The leak reveals the following information about the Dendro elemental reactions:
- Dendro will have the best synergy with Electro characters.
- Hydro-Dendro reaction should be decent but slightly weaker than the Pyro and Electro combinations.
- Dendro's two weakest pairings will be with Geo and Anemo elements.
- The reactions with this element will most likely be support-oriented without DPS potential.
- Electro, Pyro, and Dendro team compositions could become meta in the future.
Adding a new Genshin Impact element will have a huge impact on the game's current meta since it will introduce numerous new elemental reactions and interactions between characters within a team composition. Many players claim that the game's combat system is becoming a bit redundant and adding a new element would certainly freshen things up, especially on the battlefield.
While there is no official release date, it's safe to say that this new element will arrive with the new Genshin Impact region Sumeru, which should be a part of the next major update. After Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma, Sumeru is expected to be the fourth nation to arrive to the game. The introduction of this new region will most likely happen in Genshin Impact 3.0 which should arrive around mid-August.
There are already multiple speculations on who will be the first Sumeru characters to arrive to the game. While there have been various names thrown around in recent rumors, one character is certain to appear shortly after the new region lands. The God of Wisdom Kusanali, who serves as Sumeru's Archon, will most likely be one of the first Dendro characters in the game.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices, with a Nintendo Switch version in development.
