Summary
- Dahlia is set to debut in Archon Quest before Version 5.7 playable release, with Hydro Sword user potential.
- Fans offer high expectations for Dahlia as a male character, but temper expectations with his 4-Star status.
- Version 5.7 focuses on Skirk, displaying low synergy with Dahlia, with potential future male characters like Varka.
A recent leak in the Genshin Impact community has revealed Dahlia's new model, who is set to debut in the current Archon Quest before becoming playable in Version 5.7. Dahlia was initially discovered by the community during the first wave of Fontaine leaks, but it took two years until he was officially unveiled by the developers in the Version 5.6 trailer. It's clear that Genshin Impact is preparing something special for Version 5.6, as the upcoming patch will take players back to Mondstadt to conclude a storyline that's been built up for years.
Albedo, Venti, and Dahlia seem to lie at the center of this storyline, with the latter presiding over Albedo's trial as one of its judges. From a narrative standpoint, Dahlia's role remains a mystery. As for his gameplay, players can expect Dahlia in Genshin Impact to be a 4-Star Hydro Sword user. There are many possible ways for his ability kit to go, and most notably, Hydro still lacks a proper Shield character, assuming Lan Yan's elemental absorption doesn't count. However, it won't be until the Version 5.7 beta that players will be able to see Dahlia in action.
Rumor: A New Genshin Impact Game Could Be in Development
Information about a future HoYoverse project has come to light, as a new Genshin Impact game could be in development alongside the Honkai title.
That being said, his full model has already been revealed by Mero, implying that details of his ability kit aren't that far behind. Compared to his original model from 2023, the final design of Dahlia seems to have flipped his color scheme around. His coat is now white, while his trousers are black, and he wears a completely different pair of boots. Overall, the design implies a Genshin Impact character who is significantly less mischievous than his concept art, which is fitting for a judge and for the Deacon of the Knights of Favonius.
Genshin Impact: What Players Can Expect from Dahlia
It's clear that fans have been clamoring for more male characters in Genshin Impact during the Natlan era. Between Version 4.1 and Version 5.8, the developers will have added a grand total of one male 5-Star to the lineup. However, given that Dahlia will be a 4-Star character like Ifa and Ororon, Genshin Impact players should temper their expectations. While 4-Stars can be powerful in their own right, as seen with Xingqiu or Gaming, the chances of them having a subpar ability kit is significantly higher.
For all intents and purposes, HoYoverse is planning to make Skirk the star of Version 5.7, and according to recent leaks, she won't have much synergy with Dahlia. That being said, Nod Krai in Genshin Impact does promise plenty of male characters for people to enjoy, as names like Varka, Durin, Dottore, and even Capitano are tossed around as potentially playable 5-Stars. Players will get to find out more about Dahlia after the release of Version 5.6 on May 7, 2025.
