According to a recent leak, Genshin Impact will feature Skirk, Emilie, Mavuika, and Shenhe as the 5-Star banner characters of Version 5.7. With the focus on having more frequent Chronicled Banners, it's become clear that Genshin Impact will feature popular characters on the Event Banner almost exclusively going forward. While this may end up being a profitable decision in the long term, some Genshin Impact players have been overwhelmed by its recent gauntlet of Event Banners.
Version 5.6 continues this trend by offering up Escoffier and Navia in the first half of the update, while the second half features Kinich and Raiden. Navia continues to thrive as a Geo powerhouse due to recent characters like Xilonen, while Kinich is one of the best additions to Dendro since Alhaitham. On the other hand, Escoffier in Genshin Impact is set to launch a new era of Freeze teams, which will also connect to Version 5.7 in a major way.

A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community reveals footage of Dainsleif in Version 5.7, potentially hinting at his playable Element.
As outlined by HomDGCat, Version 5.7 will feature Skirk and Emilie in the first half, while the second half will be headlined by Mavuika and Shenhe. Though the Event Banners are always subject to change during the beta, this hasn't happened in Genshin Impact since early Fontaine. The most valuable character in Version 5.7 is undoubtedly Skirk, but she requires even more investment than Mavuika to reach her full potential. Unlike Mavuika in Genshin Impact, who has a decent variety of teams that work with her ability kit, Skirk is locked into being a Freeze hypercarry.

A curious thing to keep in mind is that Shenhe is considered to be one of Skirk's best teammates, which makes her appearance in Version 5.7 potentially expensive. Something similar happened with Mavuika and Citlali in Version 5.3, and is likely an attempt by HoYoverse to increase the Event Banner profit for Version 5.7. However, what makes it rather harsh for Skirk fans is that Escoffier from Version 5.6 is also her best teammate. In order to properly invest in Skirk in Genshin Impact, players are potentially looking to spend up to 540 Intertwined Wishes in the span of two updates, during which free-to-play accounts can only obtain about 115 Intertwined Wishes in total.
In terms of 4-Star characters coming to the Event Banners in Version 5.7, it's too early to tell. However, the leak claims that Dahlia in Genshin Impact will accompany Skirk and Emilie in the first half. There are also rumors of a new Hydro Support coming in Version 5.8 who will seemingly replace Shenhe for Skirk teams, which would certainly mirror the situation with Kazuha and Xilonen in early Natlan. Version 5.7 is expected to come out on June 18, 2025.
