Beetle Brawl is back in Genshin Impact, as the latest build on the beta servers has revealed that Version 5.3 will feature a new iteration of Arataki Itto's popular event. While Genshin Impact is, at its core, a game that revolves around building a team, exploring the open world, and triggering Elemental Reactions to win the day, the developers have often toyed with alternative gameplay concepts. While some of these are permanent additions, such as the Serenitea Pot or Genius Invokation TCG, others can be enjoyed temporarily during events – some of which are annual.
While the Almighty Arataki Extraordinary and Exhilarating Extreme Beetle Brawl wasn't initially intended as an annual event, its popularity made the developers reconsider. The original event made its debut in Version 3.4, before it ran again with a new storyline in Version 4.3. As a character, Itto in Genshin Impact may not necessarily be at the top of the meta, but he is certainly beloved by fans. As such, many would argue that bringing back the Arataki Beetle Brawl for a third time is a no-brainer.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Imaginarium Theater for Version 5.3
A recent beta build for Genshin Impact reveals which elements and characters will be featured for Season 7 of the Imaginarium Theater in Version 5.3.
The information comes via Flying Flame, who obtained it from the latest build on the Genshin Impact beta servers. The Beetle Brawl event will feature for the third time during Version 5.3, and will likely be a continuation of Itto's storyline from January 2024. As such, it can safely be assumed that both Arataki Itto and Kuki Shinobu will make an appearance during the event, with a potential role for Xianyun as well. In addition to the Beetle Brawl, Version 5.3 is also set to feature the Lantern Rite in Genshin Impact, though it remains to be seen if any new Liyue characters will make their debut during the Flagship Event.
Genshin Impact Is Likely Bringing Back Arataki Itto's Beetle Brawl Event in Version 5.3
The two confirmed Genshin Impact characters for Version 5.3 are Citlali and Mavuika, which leaves two spots open on the Event Banners for 5-Star characters to fill. Given that the Lantern Rite tends to feature Liyue characters, in addition to Xianyun's role as a Special Guest in the Imaginarium Theater for Version 5.3, it's highly probable that she will be one of the banner characters of the patch. While logic dictates that Arataki Itto could be the final 5-Star character to feature in Version 5.3, it's a dangerous assumption to make.
Namely, despite the Beetle Brawl's return in Version 4.3, Arataki Itto only made his presence on the Event Banners in Genshin Impact Version 4.5 – two months later. More suitable candidates remain Ganyu or even Ayato, if the latest information about the Imaginarium Theater is anything to go by. Genshin Impact players will be able to find out more as beta testing for Version 5.3 begins properly after the launch of Version 5.2 on November 20, 2024.
