Summary
- The Version 5.5 Imaginarium Theater lineup has leaked with the Opening Characters including Yoimiya, Thoma, Clorinde, Beidou, Xiao, and Sucrose.
- Special Guests and Boss Chambers offer varying elements and challenges, favoring certain characters and Event Banners.
- Genshin Impact players speculate on future character additions.
A recent Genshin Impact leak about Version 5.5 has revealed the Imaginarium Theater's entire lineup for April 2025. While the Imaginarium Theater in Genshin Impact demands a decent amount of horizontal investment, it has plenty of tools that help players be prepared for its challenges. Not only can Genshin Impact players borrow a character from a friend, but they also have access to six Opening Characters in every Imaginarium Theater.
The Imaginarium Theater in Genshin Impact tends to be restricted to three elements, but Special Guests can override these requirements and thus provide a major advantage to the player. While these elements may not always suit the average player (due to the popularity of Hydro and Pyro), the challenges provided by the Imaginarium Theater tend to be designed in a way that either favors the Opening Characters or the currently featured Event Banners.
Genshin Impact Leaks New Envisaged Echoes for Version 5.5
A recent leak in the Genshin Impact community reveals which two 5-Star characters are getting the new Envisaged Echoes from Version 5.5.
According to Narc1ssus, the Opening Characters for the Imaginarium Theater in Version 5.5 are Yoimiya, Thoma, Clorinde, Beidou, Xiao, and Sucrose. Apart from Yoimiya, the other 5-Stars have recently appeared on the Event Banners. While it remains to be seen if the developers will follow through with an Inazuma Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact, players shouldn't put much stock into the Imaginarium Theater this time. Rather, characters such as Clorinde were likely added to deal with the Tenebrous Papilla, whose shield can easily be broken by rapid-fire attacks.

One notable thing about this Imaginarium Theater is that the three featured elements are Pyro, Electro, and Anemo. Given that Version 5.5 is introducing Varesa and Iansan to Genshin Impact as two Electro characters, the developers seem to imply that they will likely thrive in Overload teams. However, if one were to consider Iansan's multipliers, Bennett still outclasses her in Overload or Pyro hypercarry teams. It should be noted that beta testing takes weeks, and both characters will likely undergo changes before Version 5.5 launches.
Ultimately, Genshin Impact players can't help but wonder why HoYoverse isn't interested in featuring Dendro in the Imaginarium Theater more often. Since its launch in July 2024, the Imaginarium Theater has only featured Dendro twice – a bit ironic, given that it's the element that has the most layered reactions. Unless Dahlia or Effie turn out to be Dendro characters in Genshin Impact, it's highly likely that Dendro will return to the Imaginarium Theater during Kinich and Emilie's eventual rerun. Version 5.5 is set to launch on March 26, 2025, but Genshin Impact players will need to wait until April 1 to access the new content.
