In the past few patches, Genshin Impact has been making multiple system optimization efforts to make progress through the game easier for players. Most of the changes began after Version 4.0 and one specific system is the Encounter Points.
Encounter Points in Genshin Impact are related to the Daily Commissions system. Introduced in Version 4.1, Encounter Points allow players to exchange daily rewards instead of going through the normal Daily Commission system. This means that you don’t need to complete any daily commissions to receive your rewards.

How Do Encounter Points Work?
Ever since Encounter Points came out, it has been quite an efficient method in which players can collect rewards without spending too much time on it. Once players have reached Adventure Rank 35 or completed Archon Quest Chapter II: Act II, the Encounter Points can be exchanged for such rewards.
The Encounter Points can be collected through exploration or completing various tasks in the game. These will be automatically accumulated and you can exchange them for daily rewards without having to do Daily Commissions.
How To Use Long-Term Encounter Points
Whenever a player uses their resin, it will automatically convert the long-term encounter points into regular encounter points. This means that you don't always need to explore or complete missions to obtain encounter points. You can do so by also consuming your resin. If you have spent your resin condensing it or on any overworld bosses, you can then head to the Adventure Handbook in the menu at the top right and click on the fourth icon from the left (this is the book shaped icon right next to the wishing feature).
Additionally, you can also reach the Adventure Handbook through the main Paimon Menu on the top left. This will be the fourth icon in the third column titled "Adventure Handbook".
After that, head to the commissions tab (the second from the top) and click on that to view your commissions and the encounter points that have been accumulated. You can then click the red gift button to claim the relevant rewards that each commission would have given you, had you chosen instead to complete the given dailies. Using all 200 of your resin will allow players to claim all four Daily Commissions at once if you prefer not to run around and claim them one by one.
Players should note that ‘using resin’ applies to condensing it or spending it on world bosses. This means condensing it to use in domains or leylines also applies. Any method by which you consume your resin will automatically result in encounter points being accumulated in the Adventure Handbook.
This system is extremely helpful and makes things a lot easier for players. Since many Genshin Impact players consume resin as part of their dailies, it’s much easier to claim your rewards through this method than when trying to accumulate normal encounter points through exploration etc.
