Morte Region and Erinnyes Forest are areas released in Genshin Impact 4.2. Morte Region is located east of the Belleau Region, while Erinnyes Forest is right north of Morte Region, east of the Court of Fontaine. The two areas aren't a big addition in terms of land size, but they do contain crucial quests like the Search for the Algae Sea quest in Genshin Impact, which is the conclusion of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo questline.
Other than for its quests, the two regions also contain plenty of treasures, some of which are hidden chests that players may miss the first time they visit the area.
Fontaine 4.2 Hidden Chests In Genshin Impact
As they're called a hidden chest, players certainly must face some unusual challenges. Here are some examples of the hidden chests in Morte Region and Erinnyes Forest in Genshin Impact.
Orthant’s Of Wishes Chest
Teleport to Fort Charybdis Ruins’ underground waypoint and head toward the Orthant’s of Wishes. Upon arrival, jump on top of the small eastern gear and activate it to move it up and down.
Take the wind current to reach the cave’s top gear and spawn a Precious chest. Also, players have the option to take a
Hydroculus from the gear on top of the chest. Travelers will encounter various enemies along the way to Orthant's of Wishes, so it is recommended to come prepared with a well-built Genshin Impact team.
Save A Puppy
Rescue the dog northeast of Weeping Willow by unlocking the cage. Upon releasing the poor soul, it will guide players toward a hidden Common chest in Genshin Impact.
Secret Torches
Enter the Erinnyes: Eastern Waterway cave near the Weeping Willow of the Lake and use the cannon to destroy the wall. Once inside, turn off four torches with any Hydro user in Genshin Impact to spawn an enemy and an Exquisite chest.
Space Force Cadet Achievement
Teleport to the island southeast of the East Slopes of Mont Automnequi and:
- Take the portal west of the waypoint.
- Solve three Potential Energy Orbs challenges.
Solving the puzzles successfully will reward players with a Precious chest and the Space Force Cadet Achievement in Genshin Impact.
Attack A Tree
Fast-travel to the waypoint southeast of the Weeping Willow of the Lake and fly east toward a broken house. Inside, players should hit the tree with the
Apple three times to get a Precious chest. This task is one of the eight Genshin Impact Treasure Map missions, which eventually leads to the
Rainbow Rose Ideals secret paper.
Orthant’s Of Memory Chest
Go to the Orthant’s of Memory puzzle location and swim toward the locked door. To unlock it:
- Take the lift next to the door to descend to the basement.
- Get the Special Key from the library’s shelf.
- Take the same lift up.
- Unlock the door with it.
- Go inside to locate a Luxurious chest.
Destroy Rocks
Within Morte Region, there are two rocks that stash an Exquisite chest behind them. To get the first hidden chest:
- Teleport to waypoint outside the Orthant’s of Persona.
- Swim south.
-
Borrow the
Crab
Ability.
- Hit the rock with it.
- Open the revealed Exquisite chest.
To get the second hidden chest in Genshin Impact, players must:
- Teleport to the Erinnyes Forest southeastern underground waypoint (Erinnyes Forest hidden waypoint).
- Go south.
- Plunge into the water.
- Swim west toward the shipwreck.
- Grab the Crab Ability.
- Swim behind the ship.
- Destroy the rock.
- Defeat the enemy inside.
- Acquire the Exquisite chest.
This task is part of the Questioning Melusine and Answering Machine quest in Genshin Impact.
If Travelers haven't unlocked the hidden waypoint, they can do so by using the cannon south of it to destroy the rock blocking their way. However, using the cannon requires answering Permingeat questions correctly in Genshin Impact.
Blast Strange Eels
While exploring the Source of All Waters: The Great Fontaine Lake, players will come across some Strange Eels. The weird underwater creature will be roaming the grounds of Morte Region, Liffey Region, and Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region.
To blast the Strange Eels and obtain various chests, players must use a Xenochromatic Creature's ability. Eels present in groups of two or three should be attacked simultaneously, otherwise, they will respawn. Depending on the difficulty and agility of the Eels, the chest rewarded will either be a Common or Exquisite chest in Genshin Impact.
The Strange Eels' location in Morte Region is:
Genshin Impact: Dew Bubble Puzzle Guide (Harmonious Reed Pipe Puzzle)
Dew Bubbles can be used to solve the Harmonious Reed Pipe Puzzle in Genshin Impact, but players may be confused about how it works.
- Southwest of Morte Region Statue of the Seven.
- Southeast of the Tower of Ipsissimus.
- Southeast of the Monte Region southeastern underwater teleportation waypoint.
- East of Foggy Forest Path.
- North of Lumidouce Harbor.
Huge Shell Chest
Fast travel to the underwater waypoint south of the Tower of Ipsissimus and swim east to locate a Huge Shell. Among the clams, players usually find some Spring of the First Dewdrop in Genshin Impact, but upon hitting the shell in the marked spot, it opens up and reveals the Exquisite chest hidden inside of it.
