Illuga is a support unit in Genshin Impact who doesn't depend on any weapon to activate their utility. For that, it's better to go with supportive weapons that add more supportive mechanics to their gameplay, such as Favonius Lance. With Favonius Lance, Illuga gets the Energy Recharge he needs to keep casting his Elemental Burst, where most of his buffs come from. Additionally, the F2P 4-star Polearm will also allow Illuga to operate as a battery for the entire team, especially the Geo character he's supporting.

If Illuga has enough Energy Recharge and the team can regain their energy without any delay, you can build Illuga with Dragon's Bane in Genshin Impact. The 4-star weapon will grant Illuga around 221 Elemental Mastery. This is very important for Illuga since most of his kit scales with Elemental Mastery, especially his team buffs.

Illuga gets 80 Elemental Mastery from the 2-pc effect of Aubade of Morningstar and Moon. This is good for Illuga's build in Genshin Impact. More importantly, when building Illuga with the Aubade of Morningstar and Moon set, he will increase the team's Lunar reactions by up to 60%, which is an absurd buff for his team. The only condition Illuga has to fulfill is not being on the field, and that's easy considering he's a support unit that doesn't need any field time.

After Illuga triggers a Geo-related Reaction on the field, he will regain 12 Elemental Energy. This effect can be triggered at most once every 15s.

When Elemental Burst Shadowless Reflection's Haunted Night's Oriole-Song effect is active, for every 7 stacks of Nightingale's Song consumed, Illuga will summon Aedon, dealing a single instance of Geo DMG to 1 nearby opponent. The DMG dealt is based on 400% of Illuga's Elemental Mastery and 200% of his DEF. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG.

When Elemental Burst Shadowless Reflection's Haunted Night's Oriole-Song effect is active, nearby active party members will have their DEF increased by 200.

Enhances the Lightkeeper's Oath effect of the Ascension Talent Torchforger's Covenant: For Geo DMG dealt to opponents, CRIT Rate is increased by 10%, CRIT DMG is increased by 30%.
