  • Furina's Elemental Skills make her versatile in combat encounters, such as stunning Clockwork Mech enemies with the appropriate Arkhe Energy type. She can also walk on water, making her useful for underwater exploration and solving puzzles.
  • Furina's talents scale off her maximum HP, making her a reliable off-field support character in combat scenarios. Her abilities make her a game-changer for exploration teams, not just in Fontaine but in other regions of Genshin Impact as well.

With the new Arkhe energy mechanics, underwater exploration, and other puzzles throughout the Fontaine region in Genshin Impact, players once again have their work cut out for them in finding all the hidden treasures this region has to offer. However, one character in particular makes exploring Genshin Impact’s new Fontaine region a much more approachable task.

Players looking to fully explore Fontaine should consider unlocking the new 5-star character Furina while she’s available in the event Wish banner. Otherwise, it might be a while before players get another chance to obtain Furina or a character who is equally as useful for exploration in Genshin Impact.

Furina is an off-field healer and source of Hydro applications, who is also capable of providing a damage buff to nearby players. Furina’s damage buff comes at the cost of reducing nearby players’ maximum HP, although cycling through both of her Elemental Skills allows players to consistently heal nearby characters after activating the damage buff.

Furina’s Talents Explained

  • Soloist’s Solicitation (normal attack): light sword attacks periodically inflict either Ouisa or Pneuma energy alignment depending on Furina’s current alignment. Charged attacks will switch Furina’s Arkhe Energy alignment and also switch her Elemental Skill accordingly.
  • Salon Solitaire: Salon Members (Ouisa Aligned Elemental Skill): summons three companions that follow Furina and use ranged Hydro attacks on nearby enemies. As the companions strike enemies, this will decrease any nearby players’ health to 50% to provide them with an attack boost. Damage scales off of Furina’s max HP.
  • Salon Solitaire: Singer Of Many Waters (Pneuma Aligned Elemental Skill): summons a stationary companion that heals nearby players. Healing value scales off of Furina’s max HP.
  • Let the People Rejoice (Elemental Burst): Deals area of effect Hydro damage. During this ability, Fanfare points will be generated every time a nearby player is healed, providing stacking damage and healing buffs for every Fanfare point accumulated.
  • Endless Waltz (passive): when players receive healing past their maximum health that doesn’t come from Singer of Many Waters, nearby characters will receive healing.
  • Unheard Confession (passive): every 1,000 points of HP that Furina has will increase her Elemental Skill’s healing and damage.
  • The Sea is My Stage (passive): Xenochromatic Abilities recharge 30% faster.

How Furina's Talents Apply to Exploration

The fact that Furina can swap between Ouisa and Pneuma alignment is a game-changer. Because of this, players can complete most of the open-world puzzles in Fontaine without constantly switching up their team composition. Beyond exploration, Furina also proves equally useful for combat encounters. Specifically, when fighting the new Clockwork Mech enemy type, players can often use one of the two Arkhe Energy types to stun these enemies, which is why Furina’s ability to change her alignment is great. This character is also great to have on a team when exploring underwater since one of her passive talents makes underwater abilities recharge faster.

Another noteworthy quality of this character is that while either one of Furina’s Elemental Skills are active she can walk on the surface of water. Since Furina’s Elemental Skill can have a permanent uptime even without any character constellations or artifacts equipped, this character can essentially walk on water for an unrestricted amount of time. Not only is this ability particularly helpful in Fontaine, but it’s also helpful for a handful of puzzles in the other regions throughout Teyvat in Genshin Impact.

Since Furina’s Elemental Burst and both of her alternate Elemental Skills scale off of her maximum HP, she’s a reliable off-field support character for any combat scenario. Also, due to her wielding both Ouisa and Pneuma energy, and her ability to walk on water, she’s a game-changer for exploration teams even outside of Fontaine. Players who haven’t gotten this character yet should strongly consider doing so while she’s still available in the Wish banner during Genshin Impact’s 4.2 Update.
