Freminet is one of the first characters introduced in Genshin Impact's new region, Fontaine. He is a playable character, and he shares the spotlight with his twin siblings, Lyney and Lynette. Like his siblings, Freminet is primarily focused on DPS, but in his case, he is a Cryo Claymore character, similar to Eula.
It's important to note that while Freminet can be built as a Cryo DPS character, it is generally more effective to build him as a Physical DPS character due to his superior scaling modifiers for this damage type. Therefore, he can make use of similar weapons as Eula to optimize his build in Genshin Impact. When selecting weapons for him, it's advisable to prioritize main and sub-stats that include Physical DMG Bonus, Crit Rate/Damage, or ATK%. Interestingly, while his official artwork showcases The Bell, unfortunately this weapon doesn't find good purpose on him.
6 Blackcliff Slasher
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% Crit DMG
- R5 Effect: After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.
The Blackcliff Slasher can be an excellent option for Freminet. It not only increases his Crit DMG but also provides a significant ATK boost upon defeating enemies. However, it's important to note that this weapon's effect is powerful but may not be suitable for every situation because it requires players to defeat enemies to activate and upkeep its effect. As such It shines when facing waves of weaker opponents, but against a single boss opponent, it will not be as effective.
5 Serpent Spine
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 27.6% Crit Rate
- R5 Effect: Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.
Another crit-oriented 4-star weapon option for Freminet is the Serpent Spine, which remains one of the better Battle Pass weapon choices all-around, despite the new additions to this weapon category. Since Freminet is a relatively selfish DPS character who spends a lot of time on the field, it's relatively easy to maximize the Serpent Spine's stacks, especially if players are planning to pair him with off-field support characters like Fischl and Zhongli. This setup increases his effectiveness without the need for frequent character swaps, while also maintaining a defensive stance to ensure he doesn't take damage that would otherwise reduce the weapon's stacks.
4 Snow-Tombed Starsilver
- Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 34.5% Physical DMG Bonus
- R5 Effect: Hitting an opponent with Normal and Charged Attacks has a 100% chance of forming and dropping an Everfrost Icicle above them, dealing AoE DMG equal to 140% of ATK. Opponents affected by Cryo are instead dealt DMG equal to 360% of ATK. Can only occur once every 10s.
For players seeking a F2P weapon option, the Snow-Tombed Starsilver can be an excellent choice. Although it doesn't provide specific bonuses to Crit DMG or Crit Rate, for players who have been fortunate enough to obtain these stats on their artifacts, the Snow-Tombed Starsilver can still be a good option. Given that Freminet's Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst help maintain Cryo application on opponents, this weapon's effect can serve as an additional source of damage, even though it may not trigger very frequently.
3 Wolf's Gravestone
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 49.6% ATK
- R1 Effect: Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increase all party members' ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.
The Wolf's Gravestone is a generally useful 5-star weapon that is valuable for any claymore user scaling with attack due to its significant ATK buffs. However, considering that Freminet already scales with the ATK stat, players may find that it could lead to diminishing returns compared to weapons with secondary stats that boost Physical DMG or Crit. Nevertheless, as a standard-banner 5-star weapon, if players already have it, they might want to use it on Freminet, as it will generally outperform the best 4-star options in most situations, making it a versatile choice.
2 Beacon Of The Reed Sea
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% CRIT Rate
- R1 Effect: After the character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s. After the character takes DMG, their ATK will be increased by 20% for 8s. The 2 aforementioned effects can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. Additionally, when not protected by a shield, the character's Max HP will be increased by 32%.
Beacon of the Reed Sea may be Dehya's signature weapon, but it also works significantly well for Freminet. This is because the weapon not only provides a high amount of Crit Rate with its secondary stat but also grants Freminet a substantial ATK boost when he hits opponents with his Elemental Skill or when he takes damage. Therefore, if players don't plan to include a shield character alongside Freminet, they can gain great value from Beacon of the Reed Sea. It not only helps him increase his ATK by taking damage but also provides additional HP, improving his survivability in the process without needing to rely on specific characters.
1 Song of Broken Pines
- Primary Stat: 741 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 20.7% Physical DMG Bonus
- R1 Effect: Increases ATK by 16%, and when Normal or Charged Attacks hit opponents, the character gains a Sigil of Whispers. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s. When you possess four Sigils of Whispers, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the "Millennial Movement: Banner-Hymn" effect for 12s."Millennial Movement: Banner-Hymn" increases Normal ATK SPD by 12% and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Whispers for 20s.
The Song of Broken Pines is unsurprisingly the best claymore option for Freminet in Genshin Impact. This is thanks to its Physical DMG Bonus and exceptionally high base ATK value. As an added bonus, the weapon effect also increases his ATK further and provides a self and party buff upon reaching the max stacks of Sigils. With this weapon, Freminet will not only be able to perform normal attacks more quickly but also further boost his ATK. When all these factors are combined while considering reaching maximum stacks is relatively easy to achieve, players who have been fortunate enough to obtain this weapon during its limited banner durations will be able to unlock Freminet's maximum potential.
