During its latest Special Livestream, Genshin Impact revealed many quality-of-life changes coming to the game for the next patch, as well as various benefits for both active and returning players.
Genshin Impact's Version 5.0 Special Program confirmed that a substantial amount of content is arriving with the debut of Natlan, including new characters, weapons, and special rewards to celebrate the game's fourth anniversary. In previous years, Genshin Impact players showed their disapproval of HoYoverse for not providing more generous rewards for annual events like Lantern Rite, summer events, or even the game's anniversary. However, for this year's commemoration, Genshin Impact is giving fans a drastic increase in gifts to begin their Natlan journey on the right foot.
Genshin Impact Devs Seem to Have a Brand-New Game in Development
Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse appears to be developing a brand-new game, according to the studio's newly opened job listings.
As confirmed by Genshin Impact, during the game's fourth-anniversary event, players can log in daily to freely obtain a total of 10 Intertwined Fates. They will also receive an in-game Thank-You mail with 1,600 Primogems, two Fragile Resins, and other unique rewards. This adds up to a total of 20 free pulls for gamers who want to pull for new Natlan characters. Developers have also announced that starting from Version 5.0 and going forward, players can choose a free Genshin Impact 5-star character from the Standard Banner on every anniversary. Fans should keep in mind that not all rewards are dropping on the same date, but they can expect to select their free 5-star as soon as the 5.0 update drops on August 28.

Genshin Impact's anniversary is on September 28, but many of these rewards are expected to drop before that date. Rewards include a Sanctifying Elixir, a new item used to create Artifacts with personalized main and substats. As for the Firstborn Firesprite and Kaboom Box, these are gadgets whose functions are yet to be revealed. Genshin Impact is also introducing a major change in its weapon banner, reducing the pulls needed for a guaranteed 5-star weapon.
The update is set to launch on August 28 with the first two acts of Natlan's Archon Quests. Genshin Impact's 5.0 Banners will feature the three new characters: Mualani, Kachina, and Kinich. The patch is also adding multiple quality-of-life features, with a World Level 9 increase and an upgrade for Genshin Impact's paid Battle Pass.
