Genshin Impact has released a new promotional code following Skirk's debut, allowing players to obtain 40 Primogems for free. It's no secret that Version 5.7 is scarce on Primogems, as Genshin Impact players will only be able to obtain about 57 Intertwined Wishes without any Welkin Moon or Battle Pass. Despite launching the Stygian Onslaught in Version 5.7, fans will only be able to stock up on funds in the next update.
Obtaining a 5-Star in Genshin Impact is no small task, as players spend about 105 pulls on average to summon their chosen character. Between a set of dry patches and some truly stacked banners, many free-to-play accounts are entering Version 5.7 with emptied Primogem wallets. Assuming they want to obtain Skirk, and they have a Freeze team ready for her, every redemption code and special promotion counts.

While 40 Primogems aren't a huge bonus in the grand scheme of things, it's still one step closer to reaching a guarantee. For players who may need even more currency, Genshin Impact is also running a special web event that gives them a chance to obtain 20, 60, 100, or even 1000 Primogems by spinning a wheel.

While most players will no doubt be attempting to obtain Skirk in Version 5.7, it's important to remember that Version 5.8 will introduce Ineffa to Genshin Impact. Ineffa will be the first 5-Star character from Nod-Krai, and her ability kit has sparked a lot of interest from the community. As an Electro Polearm, Ineffa is intended to be an Electro-Charged Shield Support with a gameplay loop similar to Emilie. Assuming players don't have Escoffier, it may be a better investment to save their Primogems for Ineffa instead, as Skirk's performance notably suffers without the star chef of Fontaine.
Other banner characters in Version 5.7 of Genshin Impact include Mavuika, Emilie, and Shenhe. While the Pyro Archon will no doubt attract plenty of pulls, Emilie can be a worthwhile investment for any player who owns Kinich. Lastly, if Genshin Impact players aren't patient enough to wait for another Liyue Chronicled Banner, they can try to obtain Shenhe in Version 5.7. Skirk's banner is scheduled to end on July 8, 2025, while Version 5.8 is set to launch on July 30, 2025.
