Starting in Version 6.0, Genshin Impact players will be able to obtain Constellations for certain 5-Star characters, and HoYoverse has finally revealed the full details of this system. While Genshin Impact designs its content to be accessible to casual players, the same cannot be said for its endgame. The Spiral Abyss, Imaginarium Theater, and Stygian Onslaught ask for a considerable amount of skill or a considerable amount of investment.
Horizontal investment can best be observed with certain 5-Star perfect pairs: Escoffier and Skirk, Mavuika and Citlali, Flins and Ineffa. On the other hand, vertical investment in Genshin Impact takes the form of Constellations, and in the ever-growing difficulty of its endgame, they can be extremely valuable for certain 5-Stars to keep up with the meta. Genshin Impact characters like Yae Miko or Shenhe greatly benefit from having even one Constellation unlocked, and this is precisely where the new feature will shine.

Rules
- Players can only claim one Constellation per 5-Star character.
- Players cannot claim a Constellation for a 5-Star character they have not yet obtained.
- The reward does not carry over into the next cycle. Players must select their Constellation before the cycle ends.
Version 6.0 will launch a new Permanent Event that will allow Genshin Impact players to earn up to four Constellations per year. This will apply to both Standard and Limited characters, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Except for Alhaitham, Yelan, and Kazuha, only non-Archon characters released before Version 4.0 are supported by the new feature. HoYoverse has claimed that subsequent event cycles will introduce more 5-Stars to the pool, which will likely coincide with Chronicled Banners in Genshin Impact.
This first cycle for 'To Temper Thyself and Journey Far' will commence with the launch of Version 6.0 and will last until December 1, 2025. These cycles are intended to last roughly twelve weeks, with a reset on Monday. To obtain a Constellation, Genshin Impact players need to complete their weekly training goal for eight weeks out of the total twelve. To complete a weekly training goal, players must spend 120 Original Resin in Genshin Impact on top of completing their Daily Commissions for at least five days in a week.
Players will be able to use the system to obtain a Masterless Stella Fortuna from Standard Banner characters, granting them another long-term source of ascending their favorite characters to the new level cap in Genshin Impact. While modern 5-Stars are better suited to tackling new content, 'To Temper Thyself and Journey Far' will allow players to upgrade some classic 5-Stars such as Hu Tao, Ayaka, and Nilou, with the latter becoming popular again due to Lauma. Version 6.0 is set to launch on September 10.
