A Genshin Impact player highlights Endora swimming in the water, a feature that makes it distinguishable from other pets in the game. There are many pets that Genshin Impact players can acquire as they complete quests and events, with Endora being among the most unique.
Genshin Impact was launched without pets, but the companions were added in update 1.2. Pets that Genshin Impact players could acquire from the get-go are Curcuma, Rose, and Dayflower, but more have been added through subsequent updates. On top of the release of these pets, update 1.2 included new equipment, characters, artifacts, events, systems, quests, and the Domain of Dragonspine. Endora was added with Genshin Impact update 1.4 as a reward in the Wishful Drops event, and players have been unlocking it each time the season rolls around. One Genshin Impact fan with an Endora noticed a detail about the pet that makes it stand out compared to the others.
Reddit user MiyaDora recently shared a screenshot of their Endora swimming alongside Kokomi in the ocean of Genshin Impact's Teyvat. As it would on the surface level, the Endora follows Kokomi and her party wherever they go underwater when most pets will despawn upon entering it. Endora's ability to swim underwater may make it more coveted by players trying to unlock it in the Wishful Drops event. One aspect of Endora that makes it capable of swimming is its status as a decorative companion pet. Endora doesn't act like a gadget either, allowing players to use other Genshin Impact gadgets in tandem.
Endora isn't the only decorative pet in Genshin Impact, as players can also unlock Mini Seelie, Shiki Koshou, and Cloud Retainer's Damasked Device. Similar to Endora, these pets can be acquired through Genshin Impact events like Lost Riches, Labyrinth Warriors, and anniversaries. According to one Genshin Impact fan, the Cloud Retainer's Demasked Device can also follow players underwater which may suggest that other decorative pets can do the same. Given that these two can swim while other Genshin Impact pets won't, they may become summoned more often during activities and quests that task players with submersing themselves.
Given that Endora is also called an Oceanid, it may not be a surprise to some Genshin Impact players that it can swim. Because this pet has the ability to swim in Genshin Impact bodies of water, it's possible that HoYoverse could enable other pets to enter it with a future update as well.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
