Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto, more commonly known as the Raiden Shogun Puppet, is a weekly boss in Genshin Impact. As Ei understands more of humanity, she decides to let go of her idea of eternity. However, as her Puppet is designed to maintain eternity, the vessel rebels against Ei’s will and fights the Archon’s new ideals. How To Beat Raiden Shogun Puppet In Genshin Impact
The highlight against this Genshin Impact weekly boss is when she enters the Baleful Shadowlord form. This happens when the Raiden Shogun Puppet hits the players enough time to fill her Ominous Destiny. In this form, active characters will periodically lose Elemental Energy. The puppet will deal more fatal attacks and gain a shield that increases Resistance.
Note that Travelers can win the battle without the boss entering this form.
Starting The Fight
The Puppet will have two stances in this boss fight; Musou Isshin and Engulfing Lightning mode. Each stance has different moves, so knowing which weapon Raiden Shogun is wielding can greatly help with the battle.
Musou Isshin Special Move
Illusions: Split into four illusions that launch blades at the player. Hitting the copy thrice will destroy it. Among the four, one illusion will launch X-shaped slashes to attack. This is the “real” Shogun Puppet. Defeat it to temporarily stun the boss. The first time players do this, they will earn the Impeccable Judgment Genshin Impact achievement.
Musou no Hitotachi: Deals Electro damage in a massive AoE. Run to the edge of the domain to avoid getting damaged.
Engulfing Lightning Special Move
Magatsu Electroculi: Deploys Magatsu Electroculi that will explode if not destroyed. It has two versions; normal (one Electroculus) or enhanced (three summons). To destroy the Electroculi, simply attack it a few times.
In the normal version, doing this will temporarily stun the Raiden Shogun puppet.
Baleful Shadowlord Form
The Raiden Shogun Puppet will gain an Electro shield that bumps her Resistance from 10% to 210%. The boss will continuously drain players’ Energy in this state, but Travelers can easily regain them by triggering Genshin Impact Elemental Reactions. It’s best to utilize Cryo and Pyro attacks to break the shield quickly.
After the shield is broken, Raiden Shogun Puppet will be stunned, and her Resistance will drop to -50%. Players will also fully regain the party’s Energy, so make sure to spam Burst in this duration.
Baleful Shadowlord Special Move
The Final Calamity: Drains the whole party’s Energy and summons Flowers of Remembrance orb. Use Elemental attacks to charge the orb and trigger a protective shield. Electro is the most effective Genshin Impact Element for this job.
If players aren’t protected by the time Raiden Shogun Puppet finishes charging, she will mark one person with the Eye of Stormy Judgment and does a guaranteed-death hit (So in co-op, only one player will be affected by this attack). This attack can’t be nullified by a shield but can be dodged by using Burst i-frame (if players manage to regain Energy after the full drain).
Team Recommendation For Raiden Shogun Puppet Boss Fight
Other than stunning the Raiden Shogun Puppet when she casts her special move (Illusion or Magatsu Electroculus), players can have these Genshin Impact units in their team composition:
- Pyro or Cryo enabler: Pyro or Cryo is badly needed to quickly destroy the Raiden Shogun Puppet’s Electro shield.
- Electro character: While the first instinct would be to avoid using Electro against Archon’s Puppet, Raiden Shogun Puppet is actually not immune to Electro. She doesn’t even have extra Resistance to Electro, with 10% Resistance to everything. Having Electro character in the team will help massively when players need to deploy the shield from the Flowers of Remembrance orb.
- Shielder and/or healer: Lastly, of course, a shielder and healer will greatly increase the team’s sustain, especially against the boss’ quick and hard hits. It’s better not to use AoE Genshin Impact healers like Bennett or Diona as the enemy often repositions.
