Fontaine is the land led by the Hydro Archon in Genshin Impact, so it’s only fitting that the expansion features mechanisms related to water. The most notable addition is clearly the underwater exploration where players can swim deep into the sea and go through ruins of the ocean.
However, diving into the sea is not the only water-related activity that Genshin Impact players can experience in Fontaine. For example, there’s a hot spring south of Beryl Region Statue of the Seven that can be dived into, but only after people cool the water down by drowning the volcanic activity in an underwater cave.
How To Dive Into The Hot Pool In Genshin Impact Fontaine
To cool down the hot spring south of Beryl Region Statue of the Seven, Genshin Impact players must head to the volcanic area underwater that’s causing the heat and drown it in water.People can simply dive into the sea and find the area, but it’s best to let the game direct the way by unlocking the Precious Chest in the middle of the pool.
How To Unlock The Precious Chest In The Middle Of The Hot Spring
To unlock the Precious Chest in the middle of the hot spring, players need to find three Water Volume Detection Crystals in the area. Here’s how players can get them:
Head north from the middle, take the purple Ousia Block from atop a branch, and hit the yellow Pneumousia Storage Box next to it to break it. Afterward, press move so that the mechanism shifts to the middle of the hot spring.
Head southwest from the first spot and burn the branches that are trapping the Crystal. Again, move the Water Volume Detection Crystals to the middle.
Find some fire crabs to the southeast for the final Water Crystal.
Once all three Water Volume Detection Crystals are in the middle, take the Miraculous Hydrograna on top of the stone, and stay in the water to turn it into a Hydro Core. Players can also use Hydro abilities like Kokomi’s Skill to cultivate the Hydrograna and activate the Water Crystals at the same time.
Open the Precious Chest when it’s unsealed, and players will now have a Water Ring they can enter to get to the volcanic area underwater. The place players must reach to cool down the hot spring is hard to miss as it gives off a hot atmosphere, considering the number of red and Pyro enemies that exist in the area.
How To Cool The Hot Water Down
To cool the hot spring south of Beryl Region Statue of the Seven, start by defeating all nearby Genshin Impact enemies to stop them from hindering the next process.
Next, players must extinguish the three torches in the area at the same time. The torch will alight immediately after they’re no longer affected by Hydro, so players can’t extinguish them one by one.
The correct way to turn them all off is by collecting Miraculous Hydrograna and placing it in the available Hydro Core container. One Hydrograna can be found near the mini-volcano in the center, and three can be obtained by destroying some Explosive Hydro Barrels slightly south of the volcano.
Once all three torches are gone, the Hydro Monument in the center will be unlocked. Hit it with a Hydro user in Genshin Impact and the room will be filled with water. Now, if players return to the surface, the hot spring will no longer be scorching and can be dived into.
Use the water current that appears after beating Iron Viscount the giant purple crab to return to the hot pool, and Travelers will earn the Core Cooling achievement in Genshin Impact.
