A Genshin Impact player discovers a major problem involving Dehya's Elemental Burst as the attack seemingly highlights an underlying issue with the game's combat system. Players may notice this issue with Dehya while attempting to complete some of the boss challenges and domains scattered throughout the world of Genshin Impact.
Dehya made her debut as a playable character in Genshin Impact version 3.5, a major update that released on February 28. The latest update also adds her signature claymore, Beacon of the Reed Sea. Dehya and her claymore may be summoned from the latest event wishes in Genshin Impact, and those lucky enough to summon her more than once may reap the benefits of increasing Dehya's Constellation level. However, a user brings awareness to an issue involving Dehya's Elemental Burst against a certain domain boss.
Genshin Impact player and Reddit user CrowLikesShiny discovered that Dehya's Elemental Burst attack, Leonite Bite, fails to directly target Azhdaha's tail while executing the attack. Upon activation of the Elemental Burst, Dehya is supposed to automatically track and attack targets in sight with Pyro damage based on her overall attack stat and HP stat. Instead, she fails to land a continuous flurry of attack on Azhdaha's tail when it's within proximity, indicating a potential issue with Genshin Impact's targeting system.
Dehya is left open to counterattacks by boss enemies like Azhdaha as seen in the Reddit post by CrowLikesShiny. Her Elemental Burst attack appears to aim for Azhdaha while he's underground instead of his tail, which is closer to Dehya than the rest of his body. As a result, Dehya is attempting to target two of Azhdaha's body parts instead of the clearly visible tail.
Some Genshin Impact players have already begun to debate about Dehya's viability in combat following the discovery of this Elemental Burst issue. Her Elemental Burst may not work well for bosses with mechanics that require damage from a volley of powerful attacks. Further, some fans are unhappy with the character and believe Dehya is currently underpowered in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact fans suggest opening a support ticket and informing HoYoverse of the issue involving Dehya's Elemental Burst. HoYoverse may listen to player feedback regarding the character and her abilities, and raising awareness may be key toward encouraging changes in the next update. Genshin Impact version 3.6 is scheduled to release this April with playable characters Baizhu and Kaveh, and HoYoverse will share more details in the near future.
Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
