Dehya, an Eremite mercenary, was introduced to players back in Genshin Impact Version 3.0, starring as a main character in the Sumeru Archon Quest. It wasn't until five patches later when she would finally become playable, and, a patch after that, be added to the standard pool of five-star characters alongside Keqing, Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Tighnari, and Mona.

As a Pyro Claymore character, it's no wonder that Dehya is a renowned mercenary and bodyguard for hire. Players who are hoping to add the Flame-Mane to their team will definitely want to ascend her, and to do so, they'll need the Dehya materials outlined in this guide.

Ascension Levels and Requirements

Dehya can ascend a total of six times, needing to do so at level 20, 40, and so on, for all the levels outlined here. In all, characters need a whopping 8,362,650 EXP to reach the maximum level of 90. Here's how much EXP and Mora is needed between each ascension threshold.

Dehya Ascension Items

As a Sumeru character with a Pyro Vision, Dehya's going to need some items from the region and the Pyro elemental gem, Agnidus Agate. Here are all the Dehya materials for each ascension.

Gemstones - Where to Find Agnidus Agate

All Pyro characters require their corresponding elemental gem, Agnidus Agate, as part of their ascension mats. These red gems can be farmed from certain bosses, which wil be the main method of obtaining them in decent quantities, but there are a few other ways to get them, too.

For the most part, farming bosses is the best bet. These bosses can drop Agnidus Agate when defeated (and the Resin cost is paid to retrieve the rewards):

*Azhdaha and the Primo Geovishap can only drop Agnidus Agate when they're aligned with Pyro.

Enemy Drop - Where to Find Eremite Cloths

Dehya is an Eremite, but she'll need to fight many other Eremites for her ascension mats. When defeated, these Sumeru enemies will drop various cloths based on their level. With them, Dehya will be able to ascend.

At higher levels, Eremites can drop better cloths:

Any level: Faded Red Satin
Level 40+: Trimmed Red Silk
Level 60+: Rich Red Brocade

Lower-quality cloths can also be crafted into higher-levels, at a 3:1 ratio.

Boss Drop - How to Get Light Guiding Tetrahedron

The Eremites are largely followers of King Deshret, and Dehya will need to take down one of the ancient god's machines to ascend. The Algorithm of Semi-Intransient of Overseer Network boss is a protector of King Deshret's legacy, and when defeated, will drop Light Guiding Tetrahedron. This is the unique boss material Dehya uses to ascend.

This boss, sometimes referred to in short as ASIMON, can be found in the Dune of Elusion in the southern Sumeru desert. Be sure to bring an Electro character to the fight, as it'll make it much easier.

Local Specialty - Sand Grease Pupa Locations

The last material needed for Dehya's ascension is a regional specialty only found in Sumeru: Sand Grease Pupa. More specifically, these strange cast-off shells can only be found in the Desert of Hadramaveth. Dehya needs 168 of them, and only a few over 70 spawn in the overworld, so players will need to farm them on multiple days or visit another player's world and kindly ask for theirs.

Unfortunately, there are no shops that sell Sand Grease Pupa and, since they aren't a plant, they can't be grown in the Serenitea Pot like other regional specialties.

Dehya Talent Materials

Dehya is a woman of many talents, but only three of them can be upgraded. To do so, each one will require the items in the first section of this table, with the totals for each talent and all three at the bottom:

Talent Books - Praxis

The talent book series Dehya uses is Praxis, one of the three Sumeru talent book series. These ones in particular can be farmed from the Steeple of Ignorance domain on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Trounce Materials - Puppet Strings

Crucial in the efforts to take down Scaramouche before he could be turned into a god, Dehya will need to relive that moment a few times. This is because the trounce domain Joururi Workshop, which is the fight against Scaramouche, is the source of Puppet Strings, a trounce material needed to upgrade Dehya's talents.
