Genshin Impact's upcoming character Citlali might have a unique feature that sets her apart from other playable units, that being a special movement animation. Genshin Impact's main asset is its playable roster, as every new update revolves around its characters, which is no surprise since they are HoYoverse's main source of revenue.
So far, developer HoYoverse has introduced over 90 characters, with Chasca and Ororon being the most recent additions. The game has already confirmed that the upcoming update 3.0 will add three new playable units: five-star characters Mavuika and Citlali, and a four-star unit named Lan Yan.
Every character in Genshin Impact has their own kit that determines their role within a team composition. One movement ability that is the same for all playable characters is Genshin Impact's gliding mechanic, which allows players to float through the air. To activate their gliders, players just need to press the jump button while mid-air. Although players have been asking for characters with different gliding mechanics, HoYoverse has yet to introduce such a playable unit. However, a Reddit user named KageYume noticed that recent gameplay footage featuring Citlali may have revealed a unique gliding animation exclusive to this character. Unlike other characters who deploy their gliders, Citlali seems to float on top of her large cushion.
Genshin Impact: New Character Citlali Might Have a Unique Mechanic
Many replies in the comment section have mentioned that Genshin Impact's recently released Cryo user Ororon already has a different gliding animation. However, unlike Ororon, whose special gliding animation ends once his Nightsoul Blessing state ends, Citlali's floating animation seems to be permanent. While some fans hope that HoYoverse will introduce more unique features like this, others claim that it's highly unlikely since gliders are a big part of Genshin Impact's cosmetic collection.
Over the last couple of years, players have suggested many characters have special animations, with Genshin Impact's Geo user Navia being a prime candidate for this feature. During her first appearances in Fontaine's teaser videos, she was shown gliding through the air using her umbrella, leading many players to believe that this animation could be implemented in her kit. Unfortunately for many Travelers, Navia has to use a regular glider, just like the rest of the roster.
Another reason some players are skeptical is that having a unique gliding animation would probably be a great selling point for Citlali, and HoYoverse hasn't mentioned any permanent features like this being part of her kit. Even if Citlali ends up having a normal gliding animation, many players will likely still pull for this character since her official reveal confirmed that she will be a powerful Cryo support in Genshin Impact.
