The update will welcome both Escoffier and Ifa as new roster members, while long-rumored character Dahlia will make his first appearance. Now, the update's total Primogem count is being teased.
Version 5.6 looks to have plenty of exciting re-runs coming to Genshin Impact alongside the update's one new character. Escoffier will be joined during the first half of the update by a re-run for five-star Geo Claymore character Navia, with Ifa also debuting as a four-star unit during the banner. The second half will welcome two more re-runs to Genshin Impact, with fan-favorite character Raiden Shogun headlining the second half alongside Version 5.0 five-star unit Kinich. Fans are now getting a better idea of how many Primogems will be available throughout the patch.
Genshin Impact Reveals New Characters and Mondstadt Storyline for Version 5.6
The latest developer livestream for Genshin Impact reveals the Event Banners for Version 5.6, as well as an exciting new chapter in Mondstadt.
A new chart shared by prominent Genshin Impact community member Hiragara details all the Primogems coming during Version 5.6. Events and the game's recurring content will account for a large portion of the available Primogems in Version 5.6, with the update's events set to grant 2,310 Primogems while Dailies and Spiral Abyss will combine for more than 4,000 Primogems. The update looks to be relatively light on Primogems, with just over 9,000 available for free players throughout Version 5.6 with no new areas and one new Teleport. Version 5.6 is scheduled to launch on May 7.

Genshin Impact's low Primogem count for Version 5.6 will make earning Primogems even more valuable with lots on the way from the RPG. The update will feature the return of Genshin Impact's "Chronicled Wish" banner, allowing players to choose from a selection of several featured five-star characters. The new Chronicled Wish will center around Inazuma characters, with fan-favorite characters like Ayaka, Kokomi, and Yae Miko among the available characters from the banner. A release date for the Inazuma Chronicled Wish banner was not confirmed.
The upcoming launch of Version 5.6 comes as Genshin Impact has already begun to tease the game's next region. A recent web event from Genshin Impact officially revealed Nod-Krai, the first segment of Snezhnaya players will arrive to during the Version 6.0 update. HoYoverse also hinted at some of the factions set to play a major role in Nod-Krai's story, with groups like the Knights of Favonius, the Hexenzirkel, and the Treasure Hoarders said to be involved. Genshin Impact fans shouldn't have to wait much longer to learn even more about the RPG's next locale.
