A Genshin Impact player has shared an interesting chart that ranks the game's four-star characters by the number of updates they have not been featured on a limited banner. Updates usually have two banner cycles, each of which contains two five-stars and a lineup of three four-star characters.
Genshin Impact's four-star characters are much easier to acquire compared to five-stars since they run on a 10-wish pity which guarantees a drop within 10 wishes. However, the odds are still divided between three characters which means that players can spend hundreds of wishes without getting a specific four-star.
Reddit user RapidFresh has posted an interesting chart that reveals which characters have missed the highest number of consecutive updates. At the top of the list is the Cryo user Chongyun whose last appearance was back in the second part of update 2.8 which featured Arataki Itto as the main limited five-star character. This means that Chongyun has not been featured in any of the recent Sumeru updates. This Cryo claymore characters is one of the best four-star supports in the game, and he's a viable pick for the famous National team composition that also includes Xingqiu, Bennett, and Xiangling.
The second spot on the list is shared between two strong Electro characters, Fischl and Dori. Despite being one of the oldest playable units in Genshin Impact, Fischl is still considered an S or A-tier pick for the support position. Her kit allows her to constantly apply the Electro element with the help of her loyal companion Oz, making her the go-to support for a lot of team comps that rely on the strong elemental application.
Dori's release flew under the radar back in version 3.0, probably because she was the only new character in the update that didn't have a Dendro Vision. Players use Dori mostly as a battery support since her kit revolves around providing tons of Energy Recharge. While she can fit most team compositions, Dori performs the best when put in a team that relies on triggering the Superconduct elemental reaction which lowers the opponents' resistance to Physical damage.
At the moment, there are three characters that have four consecutive updates: Xiangling, Kuki Shinobu, and Candace. Xiangling is probably the strongest off-field Pyro applicator which makes her a must-have unit for Vaporize and Melt team compositions. Her Elemental Burst, Pyronado, has great elemental application, and it stays on the field even if she gets swapped out.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
