A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more information about Capitano’s potential to join the playable roster in the coming months. Official teaser videos have confirmed that Capitano will be one of the main villains in the upcoming Natlan storyline. Genshin Impact previously introduced him as the first Fatui Harbinger.
The Fatui organization is one of the main antagonist factions in the game, led by the Cryo Archon Tsaritsa, who resides in the Snezhnaya region. The highest-ranking officers within the Fatui are known as the Harbingers, and they periodically appear throughout the game’s storyline.
Since Genshin Impact’s release in 2020, each major region’s story arc has featured at least one Fatui Harbinger, with Arlecchino having the most recent involvement. Although typically villains, Genshin Impact' s Harbingers often become fan-favorite characters, likely because they are expected to join the playable roster. So far, the game has made three Harbingers playable: Tartaglia, Wanderer, and Arlecchino. A new post by a credible leaker named Iris Leaks suggests that Capitano won’t be joining the playable roster during the "5.X versions." Other popular leakers have reported the same thing, adding credibility to the information.
Genshin Impact: Will Capitano Become a Playable Character?
Many fans in the comments section expressed surprise that Capitano’s release wasn’t scheduled for the second part of the Natlan updates, especially since he’s one of the most popular characters in Genshin Impact. Currently, there isn’t much information about this mysterious character. Genshin Impact’s story has revealed that the legendary Varka, the Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius, once encountered several Fatui scouts led by Capitano. Although Varka wanted to test his strength against The Captain, he ultimately agreed to a peaceful departure.
Many fans hope HoYoverse will reconsider and make Capitano a playable character during the Natlan arc in Genshin Impact. Rumors also suggest that Capitano won’t be the only Harbinger to appear in Natlan, as the mysterious Columbina is also expected to be involved in the upcoming storyline.
The only confirmed detail about Capitano’s release is that he won’t be part of the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 5.1, as HoYoverse has already revealed that Xilonen will be the only new addition to the roster. This means that the upcoming update will feature three re-run characters, one of whom is expected to be an Archon. While multiple leaks suggest that the Geo Archon Zhongli could receive yet another re-run, players hope to see older characters like Shenhe return to the banner. Shenhe’s last banner appearance was over 500 days ago.
