A recent leak circulating in the Genshin Impact community claims that no Fatui Harbingers will be released during the Natlan era, which effectively delays Capitano's debut as a playable character until at least September 2025. In addition to its regular cast, Genshin Impact also has its Seven Archons and the Fatui Harbingers, two groups that play a major role from both a lore and gameplay standpoint. Whereas the Archons tend to skew towards support roles, Harbingers are their exact opposite â with Arlecchino, Wanderer, and Tartaglia all being hypercarries.
It's no secret that there's been a lot of hype about Capitano, even before his first appearance in Natlan. As the First of the Fatui Harbingers, he commands respect throughout all of Teyvat, and his ties to Khaenri'ah give his personal story a lot of weight. While Mavuika in Genshin Impact has solidified herself as the star of Natlan, Capitano has never been that far behind in terms of popularity.
Genshin Impact Players Are Frustrated About a Recent Character Trend
While Natlan has been given plenty of praise from Genshin Impact fans, many players are increasingly frustrated about a recent character trend.
However, a recent leak shared by hxg_diluc from Uncle 111 claims that Natlan will feature no playable Harbingers over the course of its future updates. If the information ends up being true, this means that Capitano won't be playable until the launch of Snehznaya at the earliest. While other leaks have stated as much in the past, the strongest data that backs up this claim comes from the recently datamined ID list for upcoming Genshin Impact characters.
When Will Capitano Be Released in Genshin Impact?
Taking a look at the release order for Natlan in Genshin Impact, Mavuika, Citlali, and Lan Yan will be followed up by the following characters: Kimitsuki Ayano, Iansan, Varesa, a mystery character, and Ifa. While one could potentially assume the mystery character is Capitano himself, earlier leaks point toward it being the goth girl from Fontaine. With Ifa likely launching in Version 5.6, and assuming the information ends up being incorrect, the earliest that Capitano can launch is in Version 5.7 as a 5-Star Cryo Sword character.
Unfortunately, Capitano fans should prepare for the worst, in that their favorite Fatui Harbinger will likely be delayed until Snezhnaya. While Snezhnaya in Genshin Impact may be several months away, Capitano will still play a major role in closing out the Archon Quest in Natlan during Version 5.3. The precedent of a Fatui Harbinger skipping a region was already set by Wanderer in Inazuma, and an argument could be made that the wait ended up being worth it. Version 5.3 is set to launch on January 1, 2025.
