Fully completing the Strange Stone Chronicle quest in Genshin Impact is not only beneficial for the Primogems and Strange Part rewards, but it also allows people to eventually experience Serene’s birthday party that yields the It’s Fish, I Added Fish achievement in Genshin Impact.
Finishing the Strange Stone Chronicle quest may seem straightforward as the mission has no tricky parts, but many people don’t know that this task has a follow-up quest that allows Travelers to get the Birth of the Modern Clock achievement in Genshin Impact. Here’s a summary of the entire task.
Birth Of The Modern Clock Achievement In Genshin Impact
Birth of the Modern Clock Achievement in Genshin Impact can be obtained during the Strange Stone Chronicle Quest. To trigger it, travelers need to strike up a conversation with Puca, who is standing in the northern part of “A Very Bright Place”.
To earn Birth of the Modern Clock the Achievement:
- Talk to Puca
- Collect her Token and a Strange Ore
- Take the gemstone to the Gem merchant
- Collect more Strange Ores for Chesil
- Advance the time for the following day
- Get a mechanical clock from the Fontaine Gem merchant
- Give Puca the Chesil clock prototype and offer her a business deal from him
To unlock the quest and “A Very Bright Place”, players may have to complete the Ancient Colors: Act I, II, and III quests.
During the quest, Puca will ask players to locate her precious Token and bring it back to her. Arriving at the location Puca gave, players will come across a Large Overgrown and a Large Shatterstone Breacher Primus. After defeating the enemies in Genshin Impact, players can investigate the Token location and will find a Strange Ore next to it.
Delivering back the Token to Puca will leave travelers disappointed as they will find out that the Special Ore they picked up is an ordinary rock in Genshin Impact. However, Paimon suggests taking the gemstone to the Gem merchant in the Court of Fontaine. The merchant will be fascinated by the Ore’s texture and will describe it as a rare variety.
Furthermore, the Fontaine Gem merchant will offer players an advanced payment in exchange for more Strange Ores so he can forge accessories. Next, go back to Puca’s home and tell her the story, so she will mark more mysterious Ore locations.
Follow Puca’s instructions to arrive at the Ore location. There, travelers have to destroy three Prisms in exchange for 30 Strange Ores. Deliver them back to Chesil and advance the clock’s time for the next day.
If advancing the clock doesn't work, try teleporting away and advancing the time for a few days. If that still doesn't work, players can simply wait for a daily reset.
Go back to Chesil to get a mechanical clock as the gemstones were not suitable for accessory crafting. Next, mention the Melusine to the merchant so she can have her own gemstone factory and production line with Chesil. Deliver back the happy news to Puca and Chesil’s prototype clock to receive the Birth Of The Modern Clock Achievement In Genshin Impact.
